Don't argue with RFK Jr's dehumanization of autistic people by saying, "Well I'm autistic/my son is autistic and I/he can do those things!"
You're feeding into eugenics when you do that.
Discard RFK Jr's argument wholesale: we don't measure human value that way.
Can't make it to an on-site No Kings Rally? I can't either. Join me and this incredible lineup of speakers to defend our democracy.
I'll be talking about making the resistance more accessible.

Tonight I'm thinking of little 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos and his dad, Adrian Conejo Arias. They both woke up on a day last week like any other. They were each going about their day until they were kidnapped. They are now being treated beyond inhumanely. Liam has a fever.
You don't need to watch every video of every violation 100 times. This administration is lying about what happened, yes. But watching someone be murdered a dozen times is not helping anyone.
Find a way to know what actually happened. Play some tetris. Organize. Plan. Support.

🚨 CONFIRMED: ICE detained a 2-year-old girl in Minnesota and put her on a plane to Texas despite a judge’s order requiring her release, per the Star Tribune.
Read that again.
A court order said release the toddler… and ICE said no.
This is state-sanctioned kidnapping with a boarding pass.

“The [ICE] agent took the child out of the still-running car, led him to the door and directed him to knock on the door asking to be let in in order to see if anyone else was home, essentially using a 5-year-old as bait.”
This family did every single thing they’ve been asked to in order to seek asylum here. Yet in less than 24 hours, this kid and his Dad were nabbed off our streets and sent to Texas, using tactics that can only be described as pure evil.
Where is our humanity? Where have our shared values of gone? How can we justify using a little boy in a bunny hat and Spider Man backpack as bait?
You may have voted for the President under the guise that he was only going after thugs and criminals. He lied to you. – at Minneapolis, MN
I would pay money to never see AI anything. The future is not using AI to brainstorm books you might like to read. The future is using our own brains to brainstorm.
I can't tell how many accounts are bots and how many people actually believe that not "complying" with masked men means that someone should be shot in the face.
Maybe it's comforting to think you might be safe if you behave differently. But this thinking makes us all less safe.
Some hospitals are requiring masking again because the levels of respiratory illness are the highest they've been in 25 years.
Not wrong, just early.
As we pivot into a new year, I want to remind you that I offer workshops and sessions for folks who are still taking precautions against COVID-19.
I'm excited about the upcoming group session on sustainable habits.

You keep going because the alternative is a betrayal of your own conscience.
The community you lost was built on a conditional connection—one that required you to ignore reality for the sake of comfort. The community you have now, even if it's scattered across the internet, is built on the radical foundation of care.
You move forward for the person you still are: the one who values evidence, who protects the vulnerable, who didn't abandon their ethics when it became inconvenient.
It's exhausting. But you are not keeping a vigil for the past. You are holding a line for a future worth having. The "how" is one breath, one N95, one small act of self-respect at a time.
This is your periodic reminder that you don't have to do this alone.
You can be in community with other people who are avoiding covid. You can learn, grow, and be supported.

I have never gotten this many anti-maskers in my comments before. Something is shifting. It's like an extinction burst.
Christina Applegate encourages you to wear a mask around elderly and immunocompromised people because there's a lot of stuff going around right now. And she's right!
She forgot to mention that immunocompromised people are everywhere, so you should mask everywhere.
I am hosting sessions all the time!
Toward the end of this year, I'll be hosting sessions about navigating chronic illness during these trying times, as well as an introduction to identifying as disabled.
You don't need to do this alone!

Watching ignorant people be loud about identifying any and all illnesses genetically (via a singular panel??) and skipping health insurance is wild.
Don't take advice from some anon account on Twitter.
Especially don't take that advice when disability rates are skyrocketing.
Right now I'm especially thinking of all the disabled little kids who are going to lose their SNAP benefits and whose specific diets prevent them from getting what they need at a food pantry. Parents will be choosing between maxing credit cards and risking allergic reactions.

It’s a slow-moving spiral: first their health, then their grades, then their future. Those for whom Covid looms very present are feeling forgotten, subject to pervasive skepticism and a kind of cultural fatigue when it comes to their illness.
