It’s bin day for me today. It’s the turn of the recycling bin. Full of paper, cardboard… very light stuff. I put it out last night and then couldn’t sleep worrying it would get blown over and rubbish would be hurled around the street. Rising early, I crept downstairs, like a sad version of a child checking to see if Father Christmas has been, to see the bin still standing firm. I punched the cold morning air. Victory! It had held off the storm. The relief almost made up for a night unable to rest with the stress of it all. Tired now.
