🧵 Presented at #KidneyWk: Meta-analysis: Across randomized clinical trials involving patients with cardiovascular disease, #HeartFailure, #ChronicKidneyDisease, or #diabetes, sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (#SGLT2) inhibitor use was associated with small increases in hemoglobin and hematocrit vs control. These findings support a consistent hematologic effect across disease settings, although the clinical significance remains uncertain. ja.ma/4sllrNF @ASNKidney

Rituximab without the infusion? A 2026 Rheumatology study tested ultra-low-dose subcutaneous rituximab in selected RA patients with stable low disease activity. Model-based PK met the prespecified noninferiority criterion, with similar B-cell counts and disease control signals. But this was a small, open-label study — not proof that SC rituximab is equivalent to standard IV therapy. Promising convenience signal. Needs confirmation. #RheumatoidArthritis #Rituximab #Rheumatology #Biologics #MedicalEducation

A University of Chicago @UofC professor wrote 200 papers in a year using AI raising questions about academic publishing. Is this a good or bad idea? Is it the idea that is important, or the writing or both? Why does writing matter anymore? Tell me your thoughts !
