1/ Sigh. As sad as the news is for us ex-Figma old-timers, it’s a relief to know where things stand.
Today I’m just thinking of my former colleagues (friends!) who’ve poured so much of themselves into building Figma for years and years.
After an intense 15 months of review, today Adobe and Figma have decided to end our pending merger, as we no longer see a path toward regulatory approval of the deal.

When I joined Figma in Jan 2017 designers told me they’d never use a web-based tool. A lot changed in my 4 yrs there. I shared behind the scenes stories from our early days (dumpster diving for VCs & more!).

I’ll be honest, there was no "bet." After yrs of journalism turmoil, all I dared to dream for when I joined Figma was a stable job for 2 yrs.
I begged Figma's early investor @johnolilly to promise me the company had 2 years in it. He said sure hoped so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

She introed me to Figma in 2017, when 20 of us worked out of the most CURSED (but gorgeous) SOMA office. I was skittish abt early-stage but @zoink & @clairetbutler won me over.
It's wild how 1 decision can change everything.
