Why is Mehdi talking about small streamer in Florida instead of Mike Rogers?!?

A reminder that bad-faith Destiny pal Shannon Watts claimed she wouldn’t be engaging with me and I stopped engaging with her but since then she has been incessantly tweeting about, and quote-tweeting, me and attacking me.
Time to mute her. But just wanted to remind everyone of what a bad faith and dishonest figure she is. Defending Israel breaks even otherwise good people’s brains.

The general premise this tweet is promoting is likely true— we need to widen the tax base. What I don't like is the fake confusion as to why the wealthy do and should pay considerably more tax than poor folks.
Marginal utility and velocity of money are incredibly basic ideas that nearly any person can quickly and intuitively understand, so it seems a bit underhanded when they're left out of tax code evaluations.
It is beneficial to everyone for the lower classes to lead comfortable, healthy, and fruitful lives.
Everyone's chanting "tax the rich" without actually looking at the numbers.
Someone earning $200k pays roughly $42,000 in federal income tax.
Someone earning $30k pays around $1,800.
That means it takes about 23 people earning $30k to match what one person earning $200k contributes.
So why is the policy conversation constantly aimed at pushing high earners out, when they're already carrying the overwhelming majority of the load?
The issue was never how much revenue comes in.
The issue is how much gets wasted once it's collected.
Stop aiming at the earners.
Start aiming at the spending.
What do you think the world "real" in the chart means? People are so brainwashed about material conditions these days.
Life is legitimately better than ever. That doesn't mean we shouldn't try to improve things, but we also don't have to lie about the state of the world.

🤣 🤣 this is such a dishonest chart. WHAT DOES THE MONEY HAVE THE ABILITY TO BUY?????
This is how leftists operate. They will generally just personally attack and insult anyone they view as oppositional to them. They'll almost never engage substantively— just personal attack after personal attack.
Always keep that in mind for those moments they ask for grace.
Keith Edwards & Vanguard Pod CAN'T STOP LAUGHING at Hutch
Vanguard: We bullied Hutch out of his lip ring. This was a grown man balding with a lip ring
Keith: But this man is bullying me on the internet. I'm
being cyberbullied!
Vanguard: They're going to make their lane, I'm a simp for the most hackish and corporate Democrats imaginable.
Keith: I think the Democratic Party is going to make a terrible choice and start to engage with these folks.
Lmao this guy is blaming Obama for high used car prices in 2026. People talk about Trump Derangement Syndrome, but Obama Derangement Syndrome is real as fuck. The Cash For Clunkers program ended 17 years ago. 💀
Barack Obama was horrible in a million different ways, but he doesn’t get anywhere near the hate he deserves for destroying the used car market for an entire generation.
15-year-old cars with 150,000 miles that should be selling for $3,000 are going for $15,000. It’s abominable. Pure destruction and thievery.

Today is Sunday, October 25th and there are 9 days left until election day. Early voting has begun in states that have it— check your local election calendars.
I don't care if you're in the bluest blue state or the reddest red state, go to the polls and vote straight ticket Democrat. We've got to strip as much power away from this administration as we can in this midterm.

I would like a better answer than this @HaleyforMI
BASH: “You're still fully behind Abdul El-Sayed?”
STEVENS: “Look, I'm on the Democratic ticket. I can't say that I agree with everything that's gone on… I'm looking to be on the team to support my next governor Jocelyn Benson, and frankly these great Democrats who are working their tails off, who are going to make Hakeem Jeffries the first black Speaker of the House.”
BASH: “You didn't mention Abdul El-Sayed in that last answer.”
STEVENS: “Well, look, I would just say, you had asked me if I'm still on the team, I'm on the team.”
Lmao Trump supporters are such a weird breed of human being. I wonder what percentage of them are this delusional— to believe that Obama is the one selling hatred. Just truly insane stuff.

Remember when you guys elected Trump twice and he blew up the deficit more than any president in American history both times?

I asked ChatGPT to depict what a Cheesecake Factory would look like if Saddam Hussein applied his tastes to it and... yeah. This is very Trumpy.

Excuse me, I was told that Israel/Palestine was going to be the most important issue on the ballot in 2028.
Useful @gelliottmorris look at who the undecided voters are and what they care about.

You guys think @mehdirhasan is going to accuse Obama of being Islamophobic for bringing Saddam into this?

This is actually a condescending view of working-class people. I grew up in a working-class immigrant family and we ate at Red Lobster and The Cheesecake Factory for "fancy nights out." But even we understood that the White House should not look like the inside of a Red Lobster. Working-class people are not culturally illiterate just because their experiences are shaped by their limited means.
No. Elon is not an innocent bystander in this. He's not just some private citizen building cool rockets and selling cars. I wish he was. He was a lot better of a CEO and businessman in 2018 than he is in 2026.
He's buying up giant media institutions and transforming them into doing his personal politics. He ripped up our government and lied to Americans about what he was doing and why. And he even meddled in elections, using lottery loopholes to fuck with swing states.
He was not born in this country, and he has helped put in an admin that has weaponized immigration status and citizenship vs political opponents. His own status should not be safe.
And lastly, he used the very institutions that he's trying to rip down now to build up his immense wealth and empire.
