How great is this:
TV cameras caught Victor making a point to grab the 🏀 before leaving the floor amid the excitement. Most would assume that it was for his career-high 52-point performance.
But no.
Victor secured it for his head coach, who secured win #100.
That’s a leader.

Blake Griffin says youth basketball has changed for the worse after paying $140 just to watch his own son play, more than some NBA games
“I was at my son’s basketball tournament this past weekend, and I paid $80 for a wristband to watch my own kid play, and $60 to park for the weekend.”
“That’s on top of everything else.”
“You can see NBA games for that much, sometimes less.”
“And I realized as I was watching my son play, or actually as I was watching parents berate a poor referee, that something has changed from when I was a kid, and I don’t think it’s for the better.”

Tonight, I make a solemn promise to every single Texan. Whether you voted for me or Governor Abbott, or felt so betrayed by a broken politics that you did not vote at all.
Hear what Texas said today, loud and clear: Your government belongs to you. And as your governor, I will never forget it. There will be no special set of rules for the wealthy and powerful. No looking the other way when someone in my own party does wrong.
The trust you have placed in me tonight is not a blank check. It is a sacred responsibility. And I intend to earn it every single day.

SIR PATRICK STEWART (1940-2026)
Before everything else, Patrick was defined by being born and bred in Yorkshire, the proud county in the north of England which he loved to the end. You could hear it in his accented voice and in the stern honesty with which he told you what he thought and felt. Yorkshiremen have no truck with half-truths or avoidance of big issues. He wore his heart on his sleeve, which made him a man to rely on, to admire and in my case, love.
We first met as ambitious young actors with the Royal Shakespeare Company half a century ago but we weren’t in the same productions. My first strong memory was a few years later, meeting him in the street in central London when he told me about an offer to take over a leading part in 'Star Trek'. “But Patrick think of your stage career in the UK. Do you really want to risk—getting lost in Hollywood for years and years?”. Well, he took the risk and thank goodness for us all that he did for not just his devoted Trekkies but film and theatre audiences, who marvelled at his using international celebrity to star in a string of cinema successes ('X-Men' of course) and in great classical plays by Shakespeare, Ibsen, Arthur Miller, Peter Shaffer, Pinter and Beckett at Stratford-upon-Avon, in London’s West End and on Broadway.
America was his adopted home, where he met his adored Sunny who has cared for him through sickness and health, through thick and thin. But he never forsook his origins: and the proudest achievement of the most respected and beloved actor of his generation on either side of the Atlantic, was his appointment as Chancellor of Huddersfield University in Yorkshire.
His farewell performance in 'Avengers: Doomsday' is yet to be seen.

Takeaways from the Spurs win tonight over Dallas:
- This wasn't a really pretty win until the fourth-quarter takeover, but you take what you can get.
- The fourth quarter reminded me of what this team is truly capable of when they control the tempo.
- I still think they settled for too many threes, but when the looks are as wide open as some of the looks they had, I want them shooting those all day.
- Really love Mitch Johnson's decision to give Tarris Reed Jr. some run. He was a big part of that late run.
- I don't think it's crazy to say that De'Aaron Fox has been the Spurs best player to start the season.
- Still have to find more ways to get Victor Wembanyama involved, but solid outing.
- Stephon Castle was impactful all around, I still think eight threes is too many though, same goes for Dylan Harper.
- Devin Vassell and Julian Champagnie did what the Spurs needed them to do to win games.
- I never want to see a lineup of Carter Bryant, Keldon Johnson and Luke Kornet again. It's the worst defensive lineup ever.
- 34 assists is exactly where the Spurs need to be for 79 more games.
- I'm not sure what to think of their defense. 26 points off 18 forced turnovers is nice, but a lot of times they just look confused.
- How come Harrison Barnes is only getting four minutes? Genuinely I'm curious.
- Free throw shooting has to improve. This is three games in a row it's been subpar.
- 64 points in the paint. Yes. I love everything about this.
- 15 offensive rebounds! 25 second-chance points! Yes!
- I think Mitch Johnson needs to bring the three-pointer volume down by like 15% and emphasis more efficient, closer shots. Devin Vassell was a perfect example.
- This still doesn't feel as satisfying of a win as it should be considering how short-handed Dallas was.
- But at the end of the day, you take any win you can get.
1-2! #PorVida

Abbott announced 12 endorsements from local sheriffs this morning.
By mid morning, we learned one of the 12 was currently under federal indictment for public corruption.
By mid afternoon, we learned one of the 12 said he never endorsed Abbott, but was listed nonetheless.
South Texas drama: Greg Abbott initially included Webb County Sheriff Martin Cuellar, Henry Cuellar’s brother, on a list of Democratic sheriffs for Abbott.
Abbott’s campaign says it was a mistake and removed him from the list online.
Martin Cuellar says he asked to be removed, noting Abbott endorsed his brother’s GOP opponent, Tano Tijerina:
