Let's not destroy our unique environments pretending to "save the world" while allowing the rentseekers to grow ever wealthier.

#auspol One of the most disgraceful events I have seen in science was the political forced withdrawal of this paper after publication- of which I have studied in detail and it is fine. No evidence was put forward for its removal based on science. Fortunately the authors have published the data elsewhere. There is some evidence for some extreme events increasing and clear evidence of others decreasing.

1774: they blew tobacco smoke up drowning victims' backsides to revive them, and the kits hung along the Thames like lifebuoys.
1863: they sold cocaine wine as a daily tonic, and a pope pinned a gold medal on it.
1898: they sold heroin as a cough medicine, and spooned it into coughing children.
1918: they sold radium water as a health drink, and the millionaire who drank 1,400 bottles was buried in a lead-lined coffin with most of his jaw gone.
1921: they put lead in petrol, and Britain kept it in the pumps until 2000.
1930s: they X-rayed children's feet in shoe shops, and kids queued to watch their toes wiggle on the screen.
1940s: they rubbed mercury teething powder into babies' gums, and about 1 in 500 of those babies was poisoned.
1946: they sold cigarettes on the line that more doctors smoked their brand, and put a man in a white coat on the advert.
1949: they gave the lobotomy a Nobel Prize, and doctors went in through the eye socket with an ice pick.
1952: they sold a cigarette filter made of asbestos as the greatest health protection in smoking history, and smokers drew it into their lungs with every puff.
1957: they sold thalidomide to pregnant women for morning sickness, and around 10,000 babies were born with missing or shortened limbs.
1960s: they sold margarine as the heart-healthy fat, and spread trans fat on a generation's toast.
1996: they sold OxyContin as barely addictive, and started an overdose epidemic.
1999: they sold Vioxx for sore joints, and pulled it five years later after tens of thousands of heart attacks.
2026: they're selling seed oil as the heart-healthy fat, and it's in almost every packet in your kitchen.
Every one of these came with an expert's blessing and the same total certainty.
The people telling you which fat to fear today sit in the same chairs as the ones who put radium in the water and a doctor on the cigarette packet, and they're every bit as sure.
"The experts recommend it" has the longest body count in medicine.

Bruce Mountain absolutely nails it in this video. I don’t think I disagree with a single word he says here. Which is quite something in a detailed 15minute interview.

Just days ago, we thought we were losing our beautiful Birdie, but our girl had other plans 🩷
And as soon as she was strong enough, she made her way back home. Back to her little retirement village and the life she's come to love so much.
It's moments like these that remind us why we do what we do.
Because if Birdie was still living on the streets, this might have been the end of her story.
But instead, she has a safe place to grow old. A bed to curl up in, friends to spend her days with, and people who love her more than she'll ever know.
And the best part is that none of this would be possible without the incredible community of people who care about dogs like Birdie.
You've helped give her something she never had before. A life worth fighting for 🥰

These street dogs never cease to amaze me. I was sure that Birdie was gone.
If you need a huge smile today this will sort you out!
Unbelievable scenes!

Can we stop twisting this into something it isn’t? The man charged with deliberately running down Helen Haines is a longtime environmental activist with a documented history of mental health struggles, isolation, and neurological issues.
His online activity was an environmentalist and later pro-Palestine, not manosphere content, cartoons, or right-wing politics.
This attack has nothing to do with those things. I’m tired of seeing a brutal crime against an MP exploited for unrelated agendas.

Wednesday 11 November is Remembrance Day, one of our most important national days, as well as a school day. Students should be in class, learning about the importance of service and sacrifice by those who have defended our country, not protesting in the streets. Lest We Forget.

Removing humans completely from the decision making process is where the AI armageddon begins folks.
As soon as people can't comprehend or control what the algorithms are doing, we are toast.
This type of abrogation of duty by our governments needs to be absolutely nipped in the bud.
We are already sleepwalking into it as we speak.

Frank has been through far more than any dog should. 💔 Abandoned, deaf, incredibly sick, and severely malnourished, this beautiful boy needed urgent help. We promised to do everything we could to save him.
Today? He is up, running, and bulked up like a completely different dog! Seeing him so strong and happy makes it all worth it. We are so proud of you, Frank!

The unions are working with the Muslim Brotherhood, which is designated as a terrorist organisation by 10 countries including Germany and the USA.
Australia, meet APAN - the Muslim Brotherhood advocacy network to Australia, with direct links to Mahmoud Abbas, the PA, and PLO in the West Bank.
The PLO and PA mission in Canberra, NZ, and the Pacific Islands’ own documents show that APAN -Australia Palestine Advocacy Network, was set up in 2011 as part of their mission to the region, with a direct link to Mahmoud Abbas, who personally helped set it up, and that they hold at least three meetings a year to align advocacy strategy and share information.
APAN lists Palestine Action Group Sydney on its own site as one of its local groups and works with it on advocacy and protests. It also works with politicians, influencers, unions, teachers and other groups and individuals across Australia.
Including Senator Thorpe, and Payman, and the Greens.

Australians saying health should come before tobacco tax revenue is hardly surprising. The problem is that Lung Foundation Australia then uses that result to argue against excise reform and broader regulated vaping access, even though those were not the questions respondents were actually asked.
The survey also groups tobacco, vaping and nicotine products together under “serious health harms”, which risks reinforcing the very risk confusion public health should be correcting. Cigarettes, vapes and nicotine replacement therapy are not equivalent.
Meanwhile, the real-world data are uncomfortable: around 93% of Australian vapers obtain products outside the legal pharmacy pathway, while recent illicit tobacco use among smokers doubled from 17% in 2022–23 to 34% in 2025.
If health really comes first, policy should be judged by what it does to smoking, illicit markets, switching and sustained cessation, not by how people respond to carefully framed survey questions.
Public opinion matters. It is not a substitute for public-health evidence.

Last week I was asked if we could take 2 golden retrievers who had been surrendered. As soon as I saw the video of them looking frail, broken and unwell I agreed. 2 very kind ladies fought for their freedom and drove the dogs to meet our team today.
The story is complicated and I won’t go into it here. What I can share is that a third sibling died. Although these 2 dogs look ok at first glance there are so many problems. Their fluffiness is covering some very malnourished and unhealthy dogs. Despite that their tails won’t stop wagging.
The ladies who saved them named them Bonnie and Clyde. The perfect names for 2 dogs on the run from their past and hoping to start a new life with us.
There are a lot more questions than answers right now for these 2. What I do know is that we will try our very best to save them, build them back up and make better lives for them. Bonnie and Clyde have had some early treatments and are sleeping beside each other in the hospital.
Let’s see what we can do 🤞❤️
