The anniversary of my moms suicide is fast approaching. Sometimes, the pain feels as raw now as it did three years ago. It’s hard to comprehend that it’s been that long. I’ll never forget the moment I found out as I glanced at my constant buzzing phone while I was right in the middle of a zoom parent teacher conference with my younger daughter’s teacher and saw the message. I’m not completely sure what happened after that….. I somehow managed to push through the next and last 10 minutes of my daughter’s parent teacher conference convincingly enough although at that point I was mostly just in shock and mentally checked out. My entire household also happened to be down with COVID (hence the zoom conference) and legally ordered by our local officials to not leave our house under any circumstances. The memories of her final days haunted me relentlessly as I traced every single last move she made for weeks leading up to that day - even though we spoke every single day. The pain she endured, the suffering she kept hidden - or masked- from the outside world behind her selflessness were thoughts I could not escape unless I was asleep - and even then, she’d appear in my dreams. All I have now are memories and the little comfort that her suffering has at least, finally ceased. RIP Mama.

So telling your therapist you want to die or wishing you were dead is not a red flag because “wanting to do die” is not a plan. How detailed does this plan need to be to count? Is there a checklist? Is there a certain number of steps required? Does it need to be notarized? If she had said she wanted her kids to die, but didn’t have a plan, would that cause alarm?

Patrick Clancy is back on the stand for cross-examination, and before asking a single difficult question, Kevin Reddington paused and told him something the Commonwealth never did. He told Patrick that if the questioning became too much, if he needed a break, or if at any point it was too difficult emotionally, to let him know and they would take it as easy as they could. He said that before getting into the hardest part of the testimony, including asking Patrick to look at photographs of his children. Where has that compassion been from the Commonwealth? This is a father who lost all three of his children in the most horrific way imaginable. Yet I have not heard the ADA extend him that same courtesy once during this trial. In my opinion, she has come across as cold, abrupt, and lacking even the smallest measure of empathy. You can prosecute a case vigorously without losing your humanity. That brief statement from Reddington spoke volumes, and to me it highlighted a stark contrast in how Patrick has been treated throughout this trial.

Today marks 41 years since my aunt was taken from this world. I carry not only her name, but also the responsibility of remembering her. While the years continue to pass, she is more than a case file, more than a date on a calendar, and more than an unanswered question. She was a daughter, a sister, an aunt, and a person who deserved a full life. Today, I will continue to honor her life and speak her name. And I make the same promise I have made before: she will not be forgotten. As long as I am here on this earth, her story will continue to be told, and the search for answers will continue. Gone for 41 years. Forgotten for none. #RememberCatherineMowrey #CatrinaMowrey #JusticeForCatherine #ColdCase #NeverForgotten

Watching the closing arguments in the George Pino trial with @defense_diaries and I have to say, this prosecutor has one of the most disgusting attitudes I have ever seen in a courtroom. #GeorgePino

Almost 1,000 people showed up to hear about new evidence in the Scott Peterson case. I’m very open minded, but he’s guilty, sorry.

April 26, 1991. Today marks the 35th anniversary of the Andover, Kansas F5 tornado. At its peak, wind speeds were estimated at 268 mph, making it one of the most powerful storms ever documented. This thread looks at the meteorological data and the historical impact of that day. 🧵👇 #Andover #KSwx Video credit: USAF McConnell AFBov

Catherine Mowrey should be turning 65 years old today - surrounded by family, memories, and the life she never got the chance to finish living. Instead, there are decades of unanswered questions. A birthday should be about remembering who someone was - not how they died. Her life may be over, but it is still worth fighting for ⚖️

Eighteen years ago, at just 16 years old, I became your mom. I was still a kid myself and unsure of so many things. We grew up together—you and me. Every challenge, every mistake, every triumph. Now here we are—18 years later. You’ve become a strong, beautiful, brilliant young woman, and I am endlessly proud of you. I’ll always be your safe place, your biggest cheerleader, and your forever home 🫶 Happy 18th Birthday!
