The access for this opening session is WILD. I have to use a mobility scooter at big events like these, and the only way for me to get into the main room was to take an elevator backstage. I then had to scoot out next to the stage, in front of everyone. I nearly left. #4C25

This is absolutely appalling and terrifying. Universities must do better at protecting faculty and students pursuing their academic freedom.
"We're obviously shocked that our safe community has been interrupted by a horribly violent attack." Police are trying to determine a motive after a professor and two students were stabbed during a 'gender issues' class at University of Waterloo. toronto.citynews.ca/2023/06/…

A reminder that white people don't get to decide if they are racist or not. If their practices and policies are racist or not. If their spaces are racist or not. If POC are not engaging and all your diversity experts are white that's your clue.

Here's a secret for academicians who want to be activists. To be free, you need multiple streams of revenue. If and when retaliation comes, you have to have your side hustles work for you. Many people are silent bc they aren't financially free. Work on your fiscal freedom.
