“To me Marlowe is the American mind; a heavy portion of rugged realism, a dash of good hard vulgarity, a strong overtone of strident wit, an equally strong undertone of pure sentimentalism, an ocean of slang, and an utterly unexpected range of sensitivity” - Raymond Chandler

I watch Margaret Brennan on @FaceTheNation just about every week - it’s typically a mixed bag; of course almost always biased to the left, But today’s performance on the Alaska election was an all-time low for Margaret as she attacked the Attorney General repeatedly with hypothetical questions and aggressive accusations. But when the conversation turned to the obvious unethical move by Alaska democrats to nominate a fake candidate with the exact same name as the GOP candidate - with the sole intent of confusing voters - Margaret quickly said yup, yup, yup and changed the subject immediately Why does it always have to be so dishonest, margaret? If this type of intentional deception is allowed to stand in Alaska - it will be repeated over and over in our elections. It undermines democracy. But Margaret didn’t want to talk about the crux of the problem. She just wanted to attack with hypotheticals. Margaret should be ashamed.

And Margaret? For goodness sake, stop having Tom Tillis on every week 🤦‍♂️

Marxian materialism, by its own moral theory, works for enlightenment rather than emancipation. Its enlightenment is not meant to make men free, but to make them realize the impossibility of freedom.

It’s quite stunning to see democrats running for office simultaneously posting signs complaining about high property taxes while posting signs against cap on property taxes Here in my town those signs are often standing right next to each other. Weird. New Hampshire, Just remember the Democrats want to massively raise your taxes. They are desperate to create new sales and income taxes. This will never lower your property taxes ( trust me - I lived in massachusetts) NH Democrats have been barking about affordability; but somehow they never ask can we afford government? One thing is clear - we can’t afford the democrats’ vision of a massachusetts style government in New Hampshire

I am remembering a trip to Paris 30 years ago. We stayed in a small family run hotel near the Arc de Triomphe - the French family that ran that hotel were incredibly kind and loved interacting with my toddler daughter We woke up early each morning and walked all over the city. It was beautiful. The French would be up early, washing the side walks in front of their businesses or homes. Everything and everywhere I looked, I saw a testament to a great nation. The Parisians were polite and kind to my young American family - the exact opposite of what I had been told about the French “not liking Americans” We went to all the spots tourists go and encountered nothing but French people; people who were very welcoming and obviously proud of their city, It took 30 years of terrible decision by elected “leaders” to turn Paris into a war zone. French politicians who ultimately didn’t care about the French; who didn’t care about the French families who ran the shops, washed the sidewalks, and most importantly, loved France.

The Architect of Nothing: Thirty Years of Bernie Sanders Robbing America Bernie Sanders is in essence the most useless man America has ever seen. For more than three decades, the American political stage has tolerated the finger-wagging theater of Bernard Sanders, absolute fossil who has perfected the art of converting economic illiteracy into a lucrative personal enterprise. Watching Sanders lecture the working class on enterprise and economics resembles listening to an alchemist preach modern chemistry. He presents himself as the righteous champion of the laborer, yet his entire career is an unbroken record of legislative inertia, fiscal delusion, and moral abdication dressed in the tattered costume of democratic socialism. The record of his legislative productivity exposes the myth completely. Sanders arrived on Capitol Hill in 1991. Across thirty-five years of feeding at the public trough, drawing a taxpayer-funded salary while railing against the system that enriched him, the self-proclaimed revolutionary has managed to enact exactly three substantive standalone bills into law. Two of them were designations to name post offices in Vermont. Decades of pompous floor speeches, decades of furious town halls, and the net monument to his legislative skill is brass plaques on two local postal branches. When tasked with real governance, such as chairing the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee, the result was a catastrophic managerial breakdown. An investigative probe uncovered systemic falsification of appointment schedules and lethal waitlists for vulnerable veterans while Sanders initially brushed off the reports as an ideological conspiracy concocted by political enemies. Beyond bureaucratic incompetence lies an even deeper rot: total detachment from the basic laws of arithmetic. Sanders routinely touts single-payer healthcare proposals that would cost tens of trillions of dollars over a decade, blithely demanding that taxpayers swallow unprecedented confiscatory rates to fund an unwieldy state apparatus. He lectures free-market enterprises while conveniently ignoring that his flagship socialist models across Latin America systematically collapsed into breadlines, blackouts, and hyperinflation. When pressed on the mechanisms of capital allocation, he retreats into adolescent platitudes about millionaires and billionaires, conveniently updating his rhetoric to omit millionaires the moment book royalties converted him into a multi-property owner who shuttles between lakeside retreats and Capitol Hill suites. The working class does not need lectures from a lifelong functionary who never built a business, never managed a payroll, and never created a single productive private-sector job. Sanders preaches solidarity while functioning as a sheepdog for the very managerial establishment he claims to oppose, reliably folding his theatrical resistance every election cycle to endorse the corporate machine. The entire socialist enterprise rests on exploiting envy and masking personal inadequacy behind state-mandated confiscation. Bernard Sanders should retire into silence, because thirty years of empty slogans cannot hide the reality of a political career defined by total legislative bankruptcy.

Watch and understand
These are the people massacred in the Orthodox Church Damscus Syria. Just an hour before they were killed. Christians are being hunted like animals, 1 in 7 Christians worldwide face persecution, and many pay with their lives. It's a hidden holocaust.

Pure poetry! I’ve listened to the @TheTrashcans for nearly 40 years. Their music is magnificent. Often, their lyrics are so perfect - they can stand alone That’s certainly true of this new song on their latest album (which I implore you to buy). Birds I Couldn’t Identify I sat on meditation ledge I did the thing with fingers and breath I focused on the rock face And waited Wagtails, kingfishers Birds I couldn't identify I kept getting distracted By the things that were happening I sat on meditation ledge And waited I focused on the unfair On the things in the world that I can't change I focused on the wrong things And waited Double-crossers, liars Birds I couldn't identify I kept getting distracted By the things that were happening I sat on mеditation ledge And waited I sat on mеditation ledge And waited And waited
