It cannot be denied that some people experience mental difficulties which are sometimes very serious, but one of the main default "solutions" to those difficulties is nothing short of chemical restraint coupled with psychiatric guesswork that does nothing to address the real cause of the disturbance. Mind-altering psychiatric drugs are being used to mask personal problems. The process of chemically masking turmoil can give the wrong impression, making a patient, their family and friends think the prescribed drugs are working. What has actually happened is the patient has been chemically restrained and is manifesting the natural response of the body to the introduction of a foreign substance that's confusing its normal functions. When the chemical restraint isn't achieved, the answer is to up the dose or change the mind-altering drug until the person isn't able to function, and to then hail those "results" as being demonstrably effective. But it's all smoke and mirrors. These people have been drugged, sedated, tranquilised and knocked out. There's an expectation that psychiatrists understand mental disturbance and know how to treat it. There's an expectation that psychiatric treatments work. There's also an expectation that psychiatrists are competent in their field. However, each of these expectations are questioned and vigorously challenged when the effects of psychiatric treatment are exposed and when psychiatric abuse is uncovered. Expectations are even thrown in the bin when public inquiries like the Nottingham Inquiry reveal astonishing decisions, astonishing excuses and abject psychiatric failures that resulted in catastrophic outcomes that were avoidable. Routine mantras used by Mental Health Trusts in mitigation regularly accepted in courts, allow psychiatrists and their employers to avoid responsibility, accountability and culpability. With millions of people taking psychiatric drugs, it's clear not everyone will experience violent or suicidal reactions when taking them. But what drug regulatory agency warnings confirm, is that a percentage of the population will. Of nearly 410 psychiatric drug warnings, 27 warned of violence, aggression, hostility, mania, psychosis or homicidal ideation; 49 warned of self-harm or suicide/suicidal ideation; 17 were for addiction or withdrawal effects; and 27 were linked to Serotonin Syndrome found in antidepressant use and marked by symptoms that include agitation, restlessness and confusion. When it comes to psychiatry, there's no resolution, only containment. Psychiatrists admit they don't do cures. Their business model is based on restraint techniques, chemical and mechanical. So when things go wrong, psychiatrists never look in the mirror. Instead, they point the finger at anyone other than themselves for the failings, especially their patients. They coercively control, hurt and physically damage patients using #ECT and/or prescribed drugs, but they don't apologise and they don't repair the damage inflicted. Instead, they make it worse, labelling patients as treatment-resistant and blaming their mental troubles rather than scrutinising the liabilities of their prescribing habits. There's an assumption that just because a person has been given anaesthetic and paralysing drugs prior to being electroshocked, that something therapeutic will happen. With that in mind, consider this: The psychiatrist pressing the shock button on the ECT device is doing so to induce a grand mal seizure. The anaesthetic and paralysing drugs administered prior to electroshock act to raise the seizure threshold which means more electricity is required to achieve the grand mal seizure. Assaulting the brain in this way causes brain damage. Psychiatrists attempt to justify and mitigate their actions but brain damage is inflicted regardless of the conscious state of the patient. The UK drug regulator, the MHRA, has published a document titled, "Antidepressants: new safety measures for all patients to improve communication of the risk of suicidal thoughts and behaviours and persistent sexual dysfunction." New safety measures are being implemented to improve how the risks of suicidal thoughts and behaviours and persistent sexual dysfunction are communicated to patients taking antidepressants. The term post SSRI sexual dysfunction (“PSSD”) is also being added to the Patient Information Leaflet for antidepressants associated with a risk of sexual dysfunction that may continue even after the drug is stopped. #PSSD #mentalhealth #antidepressants #MHRA
