THEY DECLARED WAR ON FRAUD. THEN CALLED A $420 MILLION QUESTION A WASTE OF TIME.
In May 2025, CoreCivic offered Minnesota a vacant prison for $75 MILLION, including identified reopening upgrades.
In August 2026, DHS paid $495.6 MILLION for that same prison.
$420.6 MILLION MORE.
CoreCivic donated $500,000 to Trump's inaugural fund.
At an anti-fraud event, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent was asked to explain the price difference.
His answer: “I don't know anything about that.”
He called the question “a waste of our time.”
The price difference is documented. Fraud is not established. The federal appraisal and justification remain unexplained publicly.
IF $420 MILLION ISN'T WORTH EXPLAINING, WHAT EXACTLY IS THIS WAR ON FRAUD FOR?

White House special government employee Jason Miller, communications advisor to President Donald J. Trump, faces a Miami paternity support trial in 17 days and refuses to provide a court-ordered financial disclosure.
The judge threatened to report his lawyer to the bar for failing to follow court orders if Miller does not file his disclosure in four days, by 5 pm on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2026.
Multiple motions for contempt of court are pending against Miller for dragging out a case for years - which even the judge pointed out - that he himself brought as the plaintiff.
This week, Jason Miller made international headlines as his Brazilian political ally, Flavio Bolsonaro, lost the presidential election to Lula da Silva.
Brazilian authorities demanded that Bolsonaro, the son of former President Jair Bolsonaro, who is under house arrest after being convicted of leading a violent insurrection, turn over his passport because of a criminal money laundering investigation.
The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times reported that Miller helped Bolsonaro secure a green card and visa to flee Brazilian law enforcement and fly to Miami via Ecuador.
Miller's lawyer claimed he makes no money at the White House and has no current income. But his attorney said that people who make "several million dollars" a year do these kinds of things. India alone paid Miller a $1.8 million contract to be its foreign agent, so that is a credible claim.
More importantly, @AJDelgado13, acting as her own counsel, pointed out that Miller listed his 2025 income as "TBD" on his last financial disclosure, which the judge struck as incomplete. The judge said that Miller's lawyer, Sandy T. Fox, would be furious if an opposing litigant used the same tactics against him and his clients.
Then, the judge ordered that the information be filed under oath within four days.
That will be only 12 days before trial.
The court also ordered Miller to sit for a deposition within those 12 days. He's been skipping out on it by withholding the financial disclosure, which is absolutely necessary before someone is deposed on their finances.
Whether Delgado can get a fair trial on this kind of compressed schedule is another story. Other MAGA-world figures like Alex Jones, Rudy Giuliani and Patrick Byrne have abused the discovery process and later been hit with extraordinary court penalties in high-profile cases.
In this case, Miller pays $38,000 annually to Delgado for support for her son, who has special needs, all the while his wife's special needs child of the same age attends a $ 48,000-a-month private school.
Several million dollars in annual income could be a gross understatement, given that his last financial disclosure nebulously said he had shares in various startup companies, without naming them.
I emailed Jason Miller through his counsel, Sandy T. Fox, for comment about why the financial disclosures have been withheld for so long. They have not replied yet.

He’s now been indicted on 10 felony counts related to alleged possession of child sexual abuse material. Investigators say they found multiple files on his devices.
He posted $75,000 bond and was ordered into home detention.
