Controversial opinion. l loved the 1995 adaptation, I also loved the 2005 adaptation, and I will probably love the 2026 adaptation too. It is possible to like different versions of the same thing 😊
Poppy Day and Remembrance Day are different things. Some of us know the difference and don't have a meltdown.
It's sad that someone lost these photos. It's a long shot but if you lived in Erith (and Abbey Wood, based on the address on the envelope) in the late 90s/early 2000s, these might be yours?
When the kitchen fitters pulled out my old kitchen today they found an envelope of photos. These are just a few but there are more. I especially love the one with the monkey, as I have a similar one myself (although obviously it would be frowned upon now!!)

That's nothing. I grew up living above a pub. Shared phone line. So I'd be on the phone to a friend and a drunk man would pick up the phone and tell me to hang up. Good times 😂😂
There was a time when your friends had to call your house just to talk to you.
Someone would yell your name from the kitchen, and you'd come running to grab the phone.
Then you'd stretch that phone cord as far as it would go, trying to have a private conversation while your whole family was home.
And if you talked too long, someone was definitely going to tell you to get off the phone.
Just found an old passport of mine. 1994, and I remember how much I hated this photo because of how I looked. I wish I could go back and tell that girl she looked great.
