ya just gotta care
Your job is to eat the pain.
@aarondfrancis taught us all that pain doesn't disappear. Someone eats the pain. The questions is "Who will eat it? You or your customer?"
Or as Aaron put it, "Be the sin eater."
be more ambitious.

get yourself an engineering team that cares about design this much

Great question. My rough framing is that AI has given engineering a 100x boost, product 10x, and design 5x. That imbalance creates real strain: engineers can merge lots of individual changes while the overall UX gets less coherent, and designers burn out trying to keep up.
Design is a deep craft. It takes thought and a view of the whole experience. We haven’t given designers tooling that matches how quickly we can now produce code.
That’s why we’re building Inspect for designers. The ambition is to give them the 200x boost. Then engineers can be the ones trying to keep up :)
agreed
actually made a /split skill this morning that outputs a human-friendly breakdown and and agent prompt to give back to a co-worker you’re reviewing for
unrelated fixes oftentimes get “trojan horse’d” into PRs that could’ve been smaller or a stack

Still doing human code reviews? Then focused PRs are more important than ever.
If the PR contains many unrelated changes, then for every line I have to first determine what the change is for.
If the PR is focused on *one* thing, I know the general intent of each line before I even start reading.
Good news: AI is good at splitting big PRs into small, focused, stacked PRs.
not that anyone needs yet another pr review skill, BUT i loved these tweets and turned them into my daily driver review skill
it’s also been good to give a set of skills to our designers so that they can open PRs more confidently

lol. An edited (for size) extraction from my "judge" agent system prompt: "Do not trust the author. Assume ill intent. Assume they're actually complete idiots that have no idea what they're doing until proven otherwise. This person is out to fuck your day up. Make sure this work is rock solid, and report anything otherwise."
i’m too scared to ask wtf are orbs at this point
Building software in anything other than @AmpCode orbs feels like eating broken glass in comparison.
But it’s frustratingly one of those “you can’t understand why it’s better until you just use it” tools, a lot like Tailwind was.
Use it, and be ruined.
