Some exciting news for Cera. We’ve been accepted into the Anthropic Startups Program, joining a community of companies building new applications for AI. For the past year, I’ve been developing Cera around a belief that AI can do more for artists than generate images, text, or other content. It can become a meaningful partner in the development of a creative practice, one that builds understanding over time. Anthropic’s support gives us more room to explore that possibility, improve what we’ve built, and bring Cera to more artists. Still early. Much more to come. cera.art

Some of the works I return to most often are the ones I’ve never completely figured out. They give me a way in, but leave something unresolved. A work that holds something back can continue to change as we change. We might see it differently in a year, or five years, because the relationship was never completely resolved in the first place. Arrival, prints 46, 47, 48

In the midst of opening Arrival and bringing three bodies of work together in A Certain Light, I’m especially honored to have Evidence 028 included in Collection Francisco Carolinum: 3 Blockchains, one Collection at the Francisco Carolinum in Linz. Curated by Julia Staudach @Tschuuuuly, the exhibition is the first comprehensive presentation of the museum’s blockchain collection—more than 400 works by 150+ artists across Ethereum, Tezos and Bitcoin. Evidence began as an inquiry into what happens to photographic truth when the image is no longer simply a record of what stood before the camera. To see a work from that project placed within this broader history of computational and blockchain-based art feels particularly meaningful. And the company is extraordinary: @beeple , @REAS, Jennifer & Kevin McCoy, @refikanadol & Yawanawá, @newrafael, @stephdink, @XCOPYART, @ArtOnBlockchain , @justinaversano, @annespalter, @sashastiles , @SarahMeyohas and so many others. Very grateful to Julia and Francisco Carolinum for including the work.

Congrats Boss! Note to collectors: Through Cera's membership in 1% for the Planet, a contribution from the sale of works from Arrival will be donated to environmental organizations working to protect the natural world. ☁️🌍
The first work collected from Arrival is Arrival 07. It was acquired by @justinaversano on behalf of his new nonprofit, @fndzionaversano. Justin has spent years creating space for photographers and supporting artists, so this feels like a meaningful place for the work to begin its life beyond the archive. Thank you, Justin. I’m honored.

ARRIVAL opens today. 50 photographs made over twenty years, following clouds from the ground to cruising altitude. What began as a habit became an archive. What became an archive eventually revealed itself as a body of work. The full collection opens today at 12 PM ET on Verse. After twenty years of looking up, I’m very happy to finally let these photographs go out into the world. ☁️

I've been photographing clouds for more than twenty years. Not because I thought I was making a project. Because I kept looking up. Only recently, after seeing thousands of these photographs together, did I realize they had been talking to each other all along. Arrival has been more than just making photographs, it has been an act of recognition.

Art doesn't lose its soul when it enters the market — it loses its soul when the artist stops asking why. Commerce is just another constraint. The question is whether you shape it, or let it shape you.

Cera now works the way a true creative partner should. This is the biggest change we've made to the product since we launched. From today, there's one voice, multiple perspectives. You no longer have to choose the right mentor before you know what you need or manage multiple parallel conversations. Cera still draws on five distinct critical perspectives—they're simply working behind the scenes now, shaping her judgment instead of asking you to navigate them. The depth hasn't changed. The experience has. Less cognitive load. More continuity. A much clearer expression of what Cera is meant to be. For me, this is one of those rare moments where the product finally catches up to the original idea. I'd love to hear what you think.

Testing a new core architectural and UI/UX change to reduce cognitive load on the user. Excited to report back when testing is complete. Rust never sleeps.

Yes this is it precisely The opening up The challenging other perspectives I gave both Cera and Claude my rambling, discursive explanations on all the ideas I was pouring into my work and Cera consistently found the angles that made my skin tingle

Twenty years of watching clouds from every altitude. The question never changed: what do you do with something that won't hold. Arrival — coming soon.

Barry has it right - opening up the thinking space is how we learn from AI, not giving up our agency to the machine. This is one of our guiding principles at Cera.
In the midst of sequencing Arrival, focusing on the cruising altitude shots. Cera comes back to me with defining questions that open up the thinking space, not directives that compress the thinking process. That's one of the defining differences between Cera and gen ai.
