Well...kids surprised me and picked up Dilly Dilly and placed him in basement! Flashbacks to a special day in the woods! Won’t forget that day outdoors anytime soon!

Not certain there’s a better FaceTime to get from my son! He pinched one at 36 yards last night…but he knew the hit was back! He didn’t look for arrow and ducked out and had dog/tracker in this AM 18 hours after the shot! Pumped for him!

Here is son’s doe taken over the weekend when I was fortunate enough to be sharing the tree with him! Whether he released an arrow or hit his intended target….these shared moments are as good as it gets for an ol’ dude like me! Enjoy your season everyone! 👊🏼

This shwack pop with my son was special for many reasons!

Who delivers appliances @ 6 am…well, I’ll tell ya…Home Depot! 😵‍💫 Son & I were at base of tree at 6 and phone was vibrating in pocket…thinking emergency of some sort…nope…appliance delivery. So I texted to confirm he could find laneway & first gate and thats where he left! 🤠

We made it to cabin in IL late last night & got a sit in this AM. Had some decent movement but winds started whipping after a couple hours. Picked up BB from last fall & got him up at cabin. He’s the oldest deer Ive been fortunate enough to take at 7.5. Also 26”under chin/thic👀

Lost my release, apparently, after a wild night in the woods last fall w harvest of BB & thought I’d find ….yet never did! A poor shot on a doe last weekend using a borrowed release just felt off. Recovered the deer…yet spending most evenings getting used to son’s old release!

It’s been a rough 12 months for my wingman and so blessed to get back and share a tree with him! It’s all about the company! Deer sightings are secondary! Enjoy your weekend! #thankful

Tree stand therapy or replace shower door…some opening day sits aren’t meant to be! 🤨

Had a couple 8x10s made and hanging a few in the “Shed”. Re-living a trip from a couple Springs ago up in Nipigon with my wingman!

Son putting some final touches on BB from last fall archery season in IL! He is the oldest deer I’ve been fortunate enough to take as we we believe he was 7. He definitely had the thickest neck of any whitetail I’ve been around. Itching to get him back! 🤠

Son just finished this one up! 👊🏼🦃

Some final tweaks ….

👀

Finishing touches on something simple to fling a few arrows off the porch as all of the old targets were tattered! 🤠

Almost had an elusive “1” on a great looking hole in Southern MI with a fun group today! Hope all enjoying the holiday! 🤠⛳️

Ol’ big neck, BB is coming back home to the cabin soon! Son is helping out at the taxidermy studio so frequent updates are a plus. As I age, I realize that as I gain another memory back to hang, it reinforces how special it was simply by who I shared the woods with that day!

Some locals with strict adherence to the bike path policy! 😂🦃🦃🦃

It’s after 5 on a sunny Friday…enjoy all! 🤠

Good friend with cabin near Galena AK with unwanted visitors! Troubling to gain these trail cam photos when you’re many states and hours away!

Any Foo fans out there?
