Fantastic stuff
Jalen Brunson says he saw himself as JJ Barea off the bench in Dallas and never asked for more, until New York handed him a franchise.
"My mindset was, I'm filling JJ Barea's role. He came off the bench for Dallas. He did all these great things for Dallas. That's where I see myself. I'm gonna work to be better, but that's where I see myself. That's where I feel like I can help this team."
"The more you show in your role, the longer your leash gets, the more you're able to do. People just want to say, 'Hey, I can do this, I can do that.' Well, do what's asked of you first. Perfect it. Master it."
"And all of a sudden you'll be surprised of what they'll allow you to do. And you'll be surprised by yourself, like, 'oh damn, I can do this.'"
"So it's all about starring in a role."
We’re getting Bron in his content era 🔥

Coach Pop told Carter Bryant that he has the WORSE jab step he’s ever seen in his life😭💀
“ You have the worst jab step I’ve ever seen in my life… you need to go watch Brandon Roy and Kobe… you need to go watch those guys and look how they jab…
I just appreciate how honest he is. He doesn’t let nothing slide at all.”

Chris Finch says they did Anthony Edwards a disservice last year playing him as a point guard, that’s what lead to the move of getting LaMelo Ball:
“In the playoffs it was just double team after double team. We got to get him back to his natural position off the ball. We didn’t create enough catch and shoot threes for him and when you look at the numbers with LaMelo on the floor with his teammates and the efficiency and the production, I mean Kon Knueppel shot 7% higher from the three-point line with LaMelo on the floor than he did without. I mean that’s a massive stat for a great shooter and that’s a big bump for a great shooter.”

My anecdotal story regarding the Moda Center ...
Two seasons ago I took my wife and newborn to a Blazers game versus the Spurs. 200 level tickets but we went to the 300 level to see some friends.
Shortly before the game we hopped into an elevator to go back downstairs. Well... We were stuck in the elevator until halftime.
Luckily the Moda Center staff was gracious in upgrading our seats to court side.
But... That building is in desperate need of renovations and upgrades. The city needs to figure it out and pay up. Figure it out and keep Rip City alive.
Moda is def the most out dated, it needs to be updated
Replying to @YahooSports
Everything is wrong here. The Moda Center is not the worst arena, by far. Dundon did not pay $3B himself, he has slightly over 15% of the total transaction which is closer to $800M, plus he has no interest in development around Moda. @channingfrye if you want real details lmk.
No tasting room yet! Looking around Portland. Brick n Mortar Real estate is expensive. The wine is still amazing

6’10” at 16 years old and dunking on everybody… but no athleticism early on?! 🤣
Before he was knocking down dunks and expanding his range all the way to an NBA Championship, @channingfrye was just a 6’10” 16-year-old getting roughed up in AAU ball! 🏀💥 From the paint to the perimeter, watching the evolution is wild.

Channing Frye says LeBron, Kyrie and Kevin Love didn't even talk to each other before he joined the 2016 Cavs
"Y'all were very unappreciative of what you had"
"When I was there, I was like man y'all don't practice that hard. You have LeBron and Kyrie and Kevin and y'all don't even talk"
"I put everyone on text chat and started sending gifts. And what it started with was, 'Shut the hell up, Channing.' Then it went to, 'Oh, now we're talking' to full communication"

Grant Hill on Jaylen Brown not being on the USA team:
“When I announced then team, there were certain guys that I called before Woj and Shams broke it. And I called like Lillard, I called Jimmy Butler, I tried to call everybody because you never know when they’re going to break it. And you want to give guys the respect to hear it from me. I called Jaylen. We had a great conversation. Unbelievable conversation. And so something got lost there. And the implication that like a shoe company like to me that, look you guys can criticize my leadership. You can criticize the ability to put together a roster. When you’re in a role that I’m in, you open yourself up to criticism and I accept that. But to imply that like a shoe company told me what to do. Now you questioning my character, and that was the things that was weird.”

Richard Jefferson and Channing Frye say a random guy ran up to their truck holding the Larry O'Brien trophy under a blanket and asked if they wanted it
"People don't know this story. We're driving in this parade. All of a sudden, we see this guy run up to us holding the trophy, but it's covered in a blanket. He goes, 'Do you guys want this?'"
"I thought the guy was going from car to car to car. Apparently the trophy had taken a wrong turn down an alley, and the guy takes it off, runs it through the crowd, and tries to get it to the next car. The next car is Channing and I"
"Which of course Channing and I are the only people with the trophy during the whole parade. We're like, 'How did we get this trophy?'"
"The two delinquents. Because if the crowd knew he had that trophy, he would have died"
