Will Chad Morris finish season as Clemson’s offensive coordinator? What Dabo said thestate.com/sports/college/…
Clemson coach Dabo Swinney on freshman QB Tait Reynolds and talent of roster at large: "He's definitely grown. He's definitely done some great things. ... Sometimes the growth isn't really seen yet, but I'm not discouraged as far as our players are concerned"
Clemson coach Dabo Swinney: "We're a bit of our own worst enemy right now on offense. ... But we're gonna be better." He says that in his opinion, they should be "5-2 with momentum" right now because of how they played vs. Virginia Tech. Dabo: "But we're not. That's on me"
Dabo: "There are better days ahead. I haven't lost any faith in Chad." Says the offensive struggles are a "different situation" than last year, when he made an effective midseason tweak by giving analyst Thomas Allen more responsibility over def. passing game communication
Clemson coach Dabo Swinney: "I thought we did some really good things on the offensive line." He says by their internal tracking, the OL wasn't tagged with allowing any sacks -- all of their sacks were on QB, others, etc
Clemson coach Dabo Swinney says offensive coordinator Chad Morris will finish the season for sure. No changes there. Dabo on Morris: "Nobody works harder." He says there's plenty he'd like to see from Morris going forward, though. Dabo's top goal? "More points," he says
On QB Tait Reynolds' final fourth and 9 pass where he got sacked against Virginia Tech, Clemson coach Dabo Swinney says that was NOT originally called as a play-action pass by the staff. Dabo on Reynolds": "I have no idea why he was (PA) faking there"
Clemson coach Dabo Swinney says it "doesn't get any easier" and next week's opponent, Florida State, is "really talented" and has been able to score on everybody. Dabo on FSU: "They're a dangerous team"
Clemson coach Dabo Swinney says DB Elliot Washington II's late hit penalty on VT QB Ethan Grunkemeyer "can't happen." Dabo: "I don't wanna say it was blatant, but it was a poor decision." Would've been a first and 20 after a VT holding penalty, had Washington not been flagged
Dabo: "Defense and special teams did enough to win. If you tell me you're gonna hold them to 20 points, I'll take that every time. ... We didn't do enough on offense to complement them"
Clemson coach Dabo Swinney's post-Virginia Tech teleconference is underway. Dabo: "Not a whole lot more to add from what I said last night. Really disappointed in the outcome. We had plenty of opportunity to win it, and we did not. ... This one will leave a scar"

BALL GAME!
Replying to @BCrawford247
Note former gamecock @DQSm1th sealed the win over Clemson by breaking up the pass to Wesco. Still taming them tigers.
Early betting lines for next week's game: FanDuel and DraftKings both list Clemson football (4-3, 2-2 ACC) as a 5.5-point underdog at Florida State

Clemson is now 2-8 in last 10 games in Death Valley vs. Power 4 programs.
There is no historical precedence in the last 50 years for similar futility at home.
For perspective during previous terrible stretches:
Between '92-'95 there was a stretch we went 5-5 at home vs. Power 4.
Between '97-'99 there was a stretch we went 4-6 at home vs. Power 4.
In both of those time frames, head coaches were fired (Ken Hatfield and Tommy West)

What Dabo Swinney said after Clemson’s loss to Virginia Tech thestate.com/sports/college/…
Considering he was on the sidelines with a play sheet, did Clemson coach Dabo Swinney call plays during second half of Virginia Tech game? Dabo: "I always have a play sheet. Always have." Says he just doesn't always actively have it in his hands, but it's around/near him
Clemson coach Dabo Swinney says the fact they've lost so much at home recently "bothers me" and hurts a little extra. Dabo: "But we'll turn it around"
Clemson coach Dabo Swinney says senior QB Christopher Vizzina was available and fully healthy tonight vs. Virginia Tech. Did he consider going to Vizzina at any point in the game over freshman QB Tait Reynolds? Dabo: "No, no"
