Such a low statistic! However at HMP Durham and HMP Hull @TEWV have created specialist wings designed to support those with acute mental illness who are waiting for secure hospital and aims to prevent needing hospital all together with the right care at the right time!
🧵Our report "The long wait" found only 15% of patients are transferred to secure hospital within the recommended 28 days under the Mental Health Act. Many suffer irreversible harm while they wait.
