We have wonderful news to share with you all! Today, we launched a small mobile library in Dasht-e-Barchi! Charmaghz welcomed the children and their excitement to read and play. We will continue expanding our services around Kabul, where children need them the most. #bookmobile

Pt. 1: The past few weeks have proven to be trying times. Just yesterday, families from Kunduz and other provinces fled to Kabul for safety. They are living in the parks. We see children terrified because they miss their homes, friends, and loved ones who couldn't come with them.

Pt. 3: This is not a time to grieve but to join together for brighter tomorrow. Charmaghz is not going anywhere - we will continue to welcome every child on our buses and create a safe space. These children give us hope for a better and more loving Afghanistan. 🖤❤️💚 #hope

Pt. 2: War aggravates intergenerational trauma and affects their development. All children in Afghanistan deserve a childhood. They should be in school playing with their friends. A place where they can imagine, play and ask questions.

Children must be taught how to think, not what to think. These children are future educators, artists, and healers of Afghanistan and we are so proud of each and every child who steps onto a Charmaghz bus. 🚌 📚 🧠💜 #childrenarethefuture #librariestransform #afghanistan

Books are a portal to another world where adventures and imagination comes to life. This Eid we ask for donations to purchase more books and to sustain our mobile libraries with the basics like fuel, maintenance, and supplies to carry on our mission. #EidMubarak 📚🌎🚌 🧠

We’re so happy to be back in action and have our wheels moving around Kabul! It’s been a difficult few weeks here but we’re determined more than ever to encourage children to read and use their voice instead of violence to resolve conflicts. #lovenotwar #StrongerTogether 🧠🚌 📚

Our wonderful librarian, Mina, is pictured recording online stories for children! Due to Corona, we have temporarily suspended the mobile libraries. In the meantime, librarians at Charmaghz are working hard recording online stories for children to watch via Instagram or Telegram!
