also! big news, i leaned last week that my Crohn's is in remission :') my gastro was shocked by how good my results were it took me almost 2 years to go from incorrect autoimmune dx -> Crohn's dx -> medication that works. tbh i started thinking i'd never get out of it.
it's a crime that we let people feel like shit for years living with undiagnosed conditions that have treatments. and then even post-diagnosis finding the correct treatment. i had to try 5 biologics, 3 NSAIDs, and a DMARD before finding the drug i could be stable on for longer than 2 months.

as more and more treatments become available, it becomes pertinent that we quickly and effectively identify treatments that will work for a given person's autoimmune disease, and then effectively coordinate that care. anything less is a failure to patients.

my mission is to speed up the care loop that gets patients into remission, and then build out the missing extended care team that helps patients thrive. we need continuous monitoring, coordination, and execution. if you're a patient going through it, i'd love to talk <3

a good partner takes away the need to impress anyone, and that frees you to go chase the stuff youd normally be too embarrassed to try. no more cringe tax. the doubt and anxiety go away and you get unrelenting support from someone you care about. creative stuff, business, what you wear, any dying dream. who cares whos checking you out (or judging you) when you already have your person. who cares what your friends think when you have someone who will ride with you to the end of the earth. you stop caring what anyone thinks. except them. and if theyre the right one, theyll be there for you no matter what. infinite confidence glitch.

extension: identity shifting is real and you can become any type of guy (gender neutral) the task is then to figure out from an information environment presenting infinitely many options the type of guy you want to commit to becoming

a theory I’ve been rolling around in my head is that most people can learn to love most subjects if an active participant is able to articulate the beauty of that thing in a way that resonates with the person

the best way i can describe this is that you start experiencing dysphoria when you act incongruently with the new identity that you’re aligning with. and that’s just a much easier way to change than using willpower to fight the unwanted identity every day xitter.cf/charmcgi/status/210730…

the mindset work is the most bizzare, she has a specific morning routine that's basically subconscious reprogramming. after only a week of it daily i'm beginning to experience a dysphoria when I do or don't do things that are aligned with the person I want to become.

there’s also grief ofc that comes with this bc your previous identity is comfortable and was with you for probably a long time up until now. it’s important to express gratitude for what it gave you while also recognizing that it no longer serves you.

this is the first time i’m doing a proper recomp and just in the beginning of seeing results, and it’s fascinating to me how different this is from the experience of losing weight just to have lower number on scale latter makes me behave smol and cutesy, whereas this makes me feel expansive? like life feels bigger, i’m happy and excited to be seen rather than feeling like this tiny thing that’s hiding away. i feel more real and less like an ideal image i’m trying to chase.

if you’ve followed me for awhile you may have picked up on this: before / after photos are one of my favorite post formats on the internet. they give me a sense of hope and possibility when things feel bad and regressions happen. as long as you’re still alive you can keep going.

omg instinct is completely changing my social life. i didn’t realize how much of my scheduling avoidance was decision fatigue. i just tell it all of the factors i’m considering in making plans (location, dietary, time of day, etc) and it just figures it out for me :’)
