learning in public: my reddit replies that gave an exact fix got upvotes, the ones that were just an opinion got nothing. so i'm answering the specific problem first and keeping my opinions to one line
two of my new apps have been sitting in "waiting for review" for 8 days, a third since thursday. my updates still clear in about a day. with all the termination stories this week, a silent queue gets you nervous. anyone else seeing new apps stuck?
asked aussie sole traders what they use to track hours for my timesheet app. answers so far: xero and deputy. turns out my real competition is accounting software, not other timesheet apps
2023 me: "Nobody will use a timesheet app."
2026 me: 5.0★ on the App Store.
Timesheet Pro. Track hours, send invoices, see your tax.

If you apply a banked reset, does your Codex rate-limit reset date move forward, or does it stay the same?
I feel codex 5x plan is not enough, need 20x , its draining so fast, just did some research on keywords using astro , and my weekly limit already gone

My Codex 5x Pro limits just reset, and they’re already draining fast again 😭
Haven’t done anything heavy — just basic computer use with Astra on Low.
Anyone else noticing their limits disappearing much faster lately?
Pro tip: Design your UI with Astra, then ask Grok to implement it. It recreates the design surprisingly well. You’ll save a lot of time and tokens.

I’m not comfortable with making videos of myself promoting my apps, can someone suggest any other ways to promote my apps

Got my first annual subscriber for PrivaScan today. 🎉
It’s my first ever money earned online from something I built myself.
Whoever you are — thank you. You genuinely made my day. 🙏

This is the little app that made my first $ online 😄
PrivaScan — a simple PDF scanner + OCR app for iPhone.
If you try it, I’d love your feedback 👇

I’ve been talking a lot about learning distribution instead of just building more apps.
One paying user might sound small, but to me it proves someone I don’t know found enough value in my app to pay for it.
Now the goal is to figure out how they found it 😅
Astra is damn good. Gave it an app idea → researched competitors & reviews, found what users want, designed the UI and built the app.
Only problem? Ran out of usage before it could finish it😭
Need that reset!

Trying to learn distribution + how to find better app ideas.
I keep hearing two completely different approaches:
Build where there’s competition OR find demand with less competition.
So I’m testing both 👇
#BuildInPublic #IndieDev
Now I’m trying the opposite:
Find something people are already searching for, but where the competition is relatively low.
Then build around that demand.
