Here's what x402 is: it's an open protocol backed by the Ethereum Foundation that lets apps charge for API calls using crypto — the same way the web uses HTTP 200 for "OK," x402 uses HTTP 402 for "Payment Required." Every team in the hackathon was asked to build something real on top of it. We built CPC — Cheddr Payment Channels — a full off-chain payment system where: ⚡ Transactions settle in milliseconds, not minutes 💸 Fees are essentially zero 🔐 Everything runs through self-custodial wallets 🏗️ The whole stack is open source (link in bio) We didn't just write smart contracts. We built a complete monorepo — contracts, a Rust-based facilitator, an off-chain sequencer, a demo client, SDK helpers, Docker infrastructure, and full documentation. The judges saw a product.
