"I have no hope and trust in Kerala Police but will fight for my father's justice even if it costs my life" - Victim Jayabalakrishnan's daughter 💔 Another shocking allegation said by Victim's daughter that Jayabalakrishnan and his family had previously approached the police station to complain about damage to his eatery. His daughter and relatives have alleged that police personnel behaved improperly towards them and that her father was treated disrespectfully when he sought help. A citizen approaching a police station with a genuine complaint should be treated with dignity, regardless of financial status, occupation or social influence. The current case that stems from Jayabalakrishnan, a 55-year-old roadside eatery owner from was killed in a road accident at Cheranalloor in Kochi when a Mercedes-Benz allegedly driven by a 17-year-old boy, son of District Court Judge who crashed his vehicle. Now that the accused minor was released on station bail earlier is again granted bail from Juvenile Justice Board. The family's allegations about the earlier complaint now add another painful dimension to its demand for accountability. They want answers not only about the fatal crash but also about how their father was treated when he sought police assistance during his lifetime.

Dear @narendramodi If & when the proposals for LMRH & 335 K9 Vajra SPH reaches CCS, please ask the MoD team these questions: 1) I inaugurated the HAL Tumakuru factory in 2023. If we have an IDDM product like the LUH, why are we going for licensed assembly? We have a 70% stake in HAL. Why can't we just license the LUH design to these private firms? Let them research, invest, let them make the changes they want, build & learn. Why must foreign OEMs be given orders like this? Why can't we make HAL handhold the private firms to build helicopters? 2) I had seen & enjoyed being on the K9 Vajra in 2019. We'd ordered them in 2017 and more in 2024. We still haven't developed an IDDM SPH? Why not? Can't we mandatorily start development of an equivalent IDDM system whenever a relatively small import or license assembly order is placed? That way the rest of the need can be met by aatmanirbharta? And why not do it now? Why order 335 now instead of earlier? Can we still give an IDDM SPH program a chance? 3) Tjis reminds me, I saw that Zorawar Light Tank in June 2026 at L&T too. Why are we buying only 59 of that, that too in two tranches? Rest is a separate competition for 295? Competition is needed but why would a firm like L&T conduct R&D if their R&D effort in ILT is not given adequate orders while their licensed production is given order after order? Would you do it if you were running L&T? So what part of me saying Aatmanirbhar Bharat in May 2020 have you not understood even after all these years? (If you're not satisfied with the answers & feel we can do better:) We must make some rational changes to our procurement process if we are to achieve aatmanirbharta. Make sure DAP 2026 is edited to accommodate such reforms and send a draft to my office in three months after consulting the services, startups & SIDM. Thank you.

For Sinophiles awestruck by Chinese infra: Beijing ordered the displacement 15 lakh people to build the Three Gorges Dam, submerging 13 cities, 140 towns & 1,350 villages, causing irreplaceable damage to the ecology. India struggling to negotiate with a handful to build a dam that will protect those very villages which will be the very first to be completely washed away when China water bombs. Nah, we’re not the same. Impact so profound, has its own Britannica entry.
A ~11GW hydropower & dam on Siang river in Upper Siang, India's biggest hydropower venture estimated at ~$13B, construction was to begin in 2028. It's also to counter the massive dam Chinese are building in upstream of the same river. Ofcourse, there are protests happening 😏😏

Forget Savarkar, Netanyahu, or anyone else. Kerala which loves to preach acceptance of everyone, could not even tolerate a statue of "THUNCHATH EZHUTHACHAN", the father of the MALAYALAM language at his own birthplace. Some 'matured society" huh! Hypocrisy, thy name is Keralam!

Interesting- France and Germany offer to build subs for Argentina, which will almost certainly use them against the UK in a future conflict as they did in 1982…but, but, but…let’s look what happened in 1982: France imposed an immediate weapons embargo on Argentina, cutting off spares and new hardware… France provided technical and radar vulnerability data on its Exocet anti-ship missiles, helping the Royal Navy develop effective countermeasures. In other words- the French helped both sides in the conflict. Thats how this dirty business works. No amount of ToT or sovereign guarantees can protect the interests of a nation that relies on imported weapons to defend itself. We should learn fm this.

China is building a 60,000 MW dam on the Yarlung Tsangpo at Medog. India’s answer, the 11,200 MW Siang Upper Multipurpose Project, was first proposed in 1983 and declared a national project in 2008. Last year or so, India finally made moves to get the project rolling. On Friday night, a mob that called itself “Gen Z” set fire to the NHPC office and a police station in Pasighat, looted the homes of two MLAs and injured more than 40 police personnel. Arunachal holds about 40% of India’s hydropower potential. Its installed capacity is 2,115 MW. Every project of national scale now has to get past veto points, most of it is just stalled out of motivated malice. From survey consent, social impact assessments, environmental clearances, litigation, local politics, and finally the violent street veto. Really need to think if Democrazy as it is practised in India today has anything remotely useful to offer especially considering economic aspirations via @timesofindia

The Henry Classification System: Still Named After the Man Who Plagiarised It. British Plagiarism, Theft and Dishonesty: How Edward Henry Stole the Fingerprint System and Was Rewarded for It. In the 1890s the Bengal Police needed a workable method to file and search large numbers of fingerprints. Edward Henry, the British Inspector-General, did not invent the solution. He asked Presidency College for a strong mathematics student and assigned the problem to the officers who arrived. Qazi Azizul Haque created the mathematical core. He built a formula that sorted every set of ten fingerprints into one of 1,024 distinct categories, arranged as a 32 by 32 grid of pigeonholes. The system rested on the primary division between whorls and loops or arches, with further numerical values assigned according to which fingers carried which patterns. By 1897 thousands of print sets were already filed under this method. A search that previously took about an hour under the old anthropometric system could now be completed in roughly five minutes. Without Haque’s formula there was no practical way to retrieve a matching record from a large collection. Hem Chandra Bose supplied the technical methods that made the system operational. He developed the further subclassifications that refined the primary sorting, created ways of handling single-digit impressions rather than full sets, and later produced a telegraphic code so fingerprint data could be sent between police stations. His work turned a mathematical filing system into something police forces could actually use day to day. Remove either contribution and the method collapses. Henry claimed the opposite. He said the classification scheme had come to him in a sudden flash during a train journey and that he had scribbled the idea on his shirt cuff. In 1900 a British committee asked him whether the system was his own invention. He answered yes. He published the monograph Classification and Uses of Fingerprints under his name alone, with no acknowledgement of Haque’s formula or Bose’s methods. The system then spread internationally under the name Henry Classification System. Henry was rewarded for the claim. He received the Companion of the Star of India, was later knighted, awarded the King’s Police Medal, created a baronet, and rose to become Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police. The system that carried only his name helped secure those honours and his advancement. Only in the 1920s, when the Government of India reviewed the matter for official recognition of the two officers, did the administrative record state that Haque “actually himself devised the method of classification which is in universal use.” Both men later received titles and payments. None of Henry’s awards were withdrawn and the system kept his name. If a supervisor today took a subordinate’s formula and technical methods, published them as his own invention, and accepted sole credit, titles and a namesake system, it would be called plagiarism. That is what the record shows happened here. Haque created the mathematics. Bose made the system usable. Henry took the credit and the rewards.
