The Clean and Equitable Transportation Act would reduce pollution, connect communities, and make it easier to get around our state. Urge your legislators to support the bill! ilcleanjobs.org/CETA #TransitIsEssential #ElectrifyIL

The Transportation Choices Act of CETA is smart, commonsense legislation that means clean & healthy air, and the freedom of choice in how we get around. It is more critical than ever that our State legislators lead us boldly into that future, says Lucas @chi_streets #ActOnClimate

There's a lot to be said about #PlowTheSidewalks and how we got here, but our pilot has a line item. That's a huge victory for a scrappy organizing team with big dreams and an even bigger work ethic. More to come, the push continues.
Don’t make us tap the sign.
It’s called #PlowTheSidewalks for a reason.
📢 New on our blog: Now is the time for Mayor Johnson to make clear his commitment to #PlowTheSidewalks, and there is only one way for him to do that: fully fund the Plow the Sidewalks Pilot Program.

If you agree, we need your help to make the message clear. Take action by contacting your alderperson to let them know that you want them to push for Mayor Johnson to fund the #PlowTheSidewalks Pilot Program.

Just to clear the air….
plowing ≠shoveling
Two different words, two different meanings.
When we say plow the sidewalks, we do mean plow.
Today is Giving Tuesday – and we have blown past our $1k matching goal! 🎉
Can you help us keep our momentum and help sustain our work for another year? Every contribution, no matter how big or small, goes a long way in helping us continue our work ➡️ bit.ly/GivingTuesday_BSC24
I THINK MOST CHICAGOANS WOULD RATHER SHOVEL THEIR STREET…..
Oh wait.
Individual responsibility is not in fact an adequate approach to maintaining the public right of way. We already know this. And it’s time the City stop shirking its responsibility.
I THINK MOST CHICAGOANS WOULD RATHER EVERYONE SHOVEL THEIR OWN SIDEWALKS RATHER THAN THIS CITY HALL SPEND MORE TAX DOLLARS TRYING TO DO IT FOR US (PROBABLY BADLY).
There @LoverNotArguer, are you happy now?
#PlowTheSidewalks is a nice idea. But I have zero faith it is workable.
Today is Giving Tuesday – and thanks to a generous donor, every dollar given up to $1,000 will be matched today!
đź‘€ And we're already over halfway to our goal! Every dollar counts, can you join them and help power our work?
Help us reach our goal ➡️ bit.ly/GivingTuesday_BSC24
"The mayor’s office has said he still supports the program but is trying to balance wants and expectations..."
@chicagosmayor, we are not fighting for #PlowTheSidewalks because it's a "want" or a "nice-to-have" – it is a need.

No one ever questions whether plowing streets for drivers is a want or a need. No one has suggested cutting the plowing budget and instead have adjacent property owners take up the responsibility for shoveling the street.
Tomorrow is Giving Tuesday – and thanks to a generous donor you can double your impact, as every contribution up to $1,000 will be matched!
Can you help us reach our goal and spread the word to help power our work for another year? Every dollar counts!

“This is not a luxury service. ... Disabled people deserve to be in community. People deserve to be able to not have to reschedule everything to get around,” Saltzman said.
“We’re asking to fund the pilot...and to say that disabled people matter.” #PlowTheSidewalks
"Plow the Sidewalks" pilot program was left out of the city budget, angering disability rights advocates. buff.ly/3BaoXEv
Thank you, Ald. La Spata, for your continued bold leadership on #PlowTheSidewalks!
Chicagoans deserve safe, plowed sidewalks this winter. Hundreds of thousands of residents—parents with young children, neighbors with disabilities, elderly Chicagoans—are counting on us to invest in #PlowtheSidewalks. I won’t vote for a budget that leaves them out.
