Sad news. Pete Byrne of Naked Eyes has passed away. I just received the news an hour ago. He brought us so much great music and so many good shows. He will be sadly missed. Did you ever get to see him live? Rock in Peace, my friend.

Happy Anniversary to the "Brown Album"! 🤎 Released on this day in 1969, The Band’s second studio album remains a flawless piece of music history. Take a look back at this performance of the standout track "Up On Cripple Creek" from The Last Waltz. Which track from this album do you always find yourself coming back to?

"Atomic" is from Blondie’s 1979 album Eat to the Beat. The disco-punk hybrid became a huge hit, reaching #1 on the UK Singles Chart in 1980 and performing well across Europe. It showcased the band’s ability to blend new wave with dance music. xitter.cf/Lady_FanAccount/status…

In 1985, Carl Sagan told Congress that continuing to burn fossil fuels will increase global temperature, cause climate change, melt glaciers and ice sheets, and cause sea level rise. Imagine if we had listened to him them. No time to wait. #ActOnClimate #climate

🚨 HUNTER VOWS TO KILL YELLOWSTONE’S OLDEST WOLF — HERE’S HOW YOU CAN HELP STOP IT Yellowstone’s extraordinary 12-year-old wolf 1090F has survived brutal winters, rival packs, injuries and everything nature has thrown at her. Now she could be killed simply for crossing an invisible line drawn by humans. 1090F is one of the oldest wolves ever recorded in Yellowstone and Wyoming and a celebrated member of the historic Mollie’s Pack — whose story stretches back to the restoration of wolves to Yellowstone in 1995. But Wyoming’s wolf hunting season in Wolf Hunt Area 1 opens SEPTEMBER 15. And one hunter has made his intentions very clear. Big Piney-area outdoorsman Mitch Gilliam told Cowboy State Daily: “I plan to be there on Sept. 15.” And when specifically asked about 1090F, he said: “If I see her, I’ll harvest her.” Gilliam even acknowledges what an extraordinary animal she is, saying that surviving to 12 means she is “obviously a smart wolf.” But he argues that because she’s old and declining, perhaps shooting her would be preferable to allowing her eventually to starve or be killed by another wolf pack. He also dismisses the emotional connection people have developed with Yellowstone’s famous wolves: “It’s not a cartoon character; it’s a wild wolf.” Gilliam has previously publicly defended Wyoming’s wolf-management policies and advocated removing federal Endangered Species Act protections for wolves across the Lower 48. He also organised a counter-demonstration against protesters campaigning over the infamous Cody Roberts wolf case and said he had subsequently become friends with Roberts. Now Gilliam says he intends to hunt in the region where Mollie’s Pack has been travelling. And he isn’t the only one. A Nevada social-media account called Kyri Ranch has also publicly targeted 1090F, reportedly declaring: “The matriarch 1090F is going down on the 15th of September.” Thankfully, most of Mollie’s Pack has now returned inside Yellowstone. But wildlife managers warn that these wolves could cross the park boundary again. The moment 1090F crosses that invisible line during the hunting season, she becomes vulnerable. 🚨 SO WHAT CAN WE ACTUALLY DO? The Wyoming Game & Fish Commission is the wildlife policy-making authority in Wyoming, and campaigners are demanding an emergency temporary closure of Wolf Hunt Area 1. EMAIL THE COMMISSIONERS: [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] EMAIL WYOMING GOVERNOR MARK GORDON: [email protected] Tell them: “Please immediately close Wolf Hunt Area 1 and protect 1090F and the historic Mollie’s Pack. A 12-year-old Yellowstone wolf should not become a trophy simply because she crosses an invisible boundary.” You can also SIGN AND SHARE the petition calling for Wolf Hunt Area 1 to be closed for the 2026 season. And SHARE 1090F’S STORY INTERNATIONALLY. Public pressure is already reaching Wyoming from around the world. One Wyoming Game & Fish commissioner confirmed receiving messages from across the United States, Australia and New Zealand. But please keep it peaceful and lawful. Do not threaten hunters, interfere with a hunt or harass individuals. Put the pressure on the officials who have the authority to change wildlife policy. 1090F has survived 12 years in one of the toughest environments on Earth. She deserves the chance to live out whatever time she has left naturally. DON’T LET AN INVISIBLE LINE BECOME HER DEATH SENTENCE. ACT NOW — THE HUNT OPENS SEPTEMBER 15. Animals are NOT ours to use and abuse EVER! People gather to watch an Elephant who had been clothed In beautiful garments but they willingly choose to ignore what's underneath. Heavy garments for a wild animal and underneath the garments are tight short shackles that make it hard to stand and walk. People gather to watch an Elephant who is poked and beaten with a bullhook for not wanting to participate. People gather willingly to watch an Elephant forced into a long ‘life’ of SLAVERY. What is beautiful about that ? 🎦 Credit: Les Eléphants de Lek.

Abandoned’ dolphins have been seen gnawing at the concrete walls of their enclosure and floating aimlessly at a closed water park. Veeleaf, an animal rights group in Mexico, filmed the aquarium in Cancún, Quintana Roo, on September 2. The footage, seen by Metro, is the latest example of what Veeleaf alleges are the ‘horrific conditions’ the pod has faced since the park closed in 2025. Campaigners claim the nine Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins are fed just once a day and receive little attention from caretakers, called enrichment. Officials have long denied this. ‘We may never fully understand the fear, confusion and inner turmoil of an individual denied freedom for that long,’ Paola Ibarra, co-founder of Veeleaf, told Metro. Some of them once swam in the waters of the Solomon Islands before they were captured in 2003 and transported 8,000 miles to a dolphinarium operated by Dolphin Discovery, which runs swim-with-dolphin experiences. The site was part of Ventura Park, which announced the ‘indefinite closure’ of its operations for maintenance in January 2025. The dolphins, however, remained at the site. PROFEPA, Mexico’s environmental protection agency, seized the dolphins in October 2025. However, it said it would not be safe to move the dolphins and insisted they hadn’t been forgotten.
