Lady VOL Gabby. Minus. I swear I’d take Gabby over any player on last year’s team. 7 offensive rebounds, 10-12 FT last night as a true freshman. Gabby is the same type of ‘work your ### off’ player Pat cherished. Ty, Kim Caldwell - we have fighters this season!
Guarantee you the only reason we’re not ranked higher is the week-to-week “uncertainty” Heupel’s creating with who’s starting the next game. Say GMAC’s our starter and we’re easily top 10.
Jeffery Simmons, exceptional father and man, and possibly the greatest since Reggie White and the TN Titans have to trade him because they don’t know how to stop stinking. Hope they realize what’s now at stake with all these draft picks. No choice but to fix it.

Don’t think I’ve ever seen an offseason with so much hope and high expectations crushed before the 1st game like we’re seeing with the men’s basketball team. Need Coach Barnes to prove them horribly wrong. Need Jalen Washington too.

Josh Heupel was an answer to many prayers when hired & I support him. But he’s proved he’s lost on coaching discipline. Real ball fans saw the discipline Indiana won a natty with last year. We don’t have that, but we do have Knowles & Garner & they know discipline. Use them.
After sleeping on that loss, here it is: we can deal with knowing the best team won. But Texas and SC were both games WE should’ve won. Staff & players failed in what they 💯 control: preparation & discipline. We cannot & shouldn’t have to deal with that.
Is it time Josh Heupel sets down with Jim Knowles and says, “help me Coach: what am I getting wrong on developing a disciplined team? What are we missing to become a championship level program?”

More VOLS genius: last year, JTelander was a solid LB in the mix but just seemed a half step slow. This new staff evaluated then redesigned his role, DO upped his speed a FULL step and he looks like an All-American.

Interesting stat on Cam Ward, and makes sense. Team is still embarrassing.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: @Cameron7Ward IS NOT the problem. Tennessee’s offense is failing around him.
And one stat should completely change the conversation:
Cam Ward ranks 5th in the entire NFL in adjusted completion percentage at 80.2%.
Not fifth among young QBs.
Not fifth in the AFC.
FIFTH IN THE NFL.
Adjusted completion percentage removes drops, throwaways, spikes, batted passes and throws where the QB is hit while releasing the football.
In simple terms:
When Cam actually gets a fair chance to complete the pass, he’s been one of the most accurate quarterbacks in football. Yet no one even mention it.
Now look at what Tennessee has put around him through five games:
• 11 dropped passes
• 4 lost fumbles by teammates. Cam has lost ZERO.
• 30 penalties for 248 yards
• 67 yards of Cam completions erased by holding against Houston alone
• 10 sacks allowed
• Titans special teams rank 31st in the NFL at -22.2 EPA
• 68% of his targets are behind the LOS or within 9 yards
• Only 9% of his targets are 20+ yards downfield
• Of his 3 interceptions, one came after Tony Pollard bobbled the ball against Baltimore, and another came while Cam was hit as he threw against Houston
And those drops are absolutely crushing his box-score numbers.
Cam’s official completion percentage:
63.2%
If those 11 dropped passes are caught:
70.3%
Read that again.
63.2% becomes 70.3%.
Yet every Monday the conversation gets reduced to:
“Cam Ward has to play better.”
Meanwhile...
Drops kill drives.
Fumbles kill momentum.
Penalties erase explosive plays.
Bad special teams create longer fields.
Protection breakdowns force rushed decisions.
A conservative passing attack limits explosive opportunities.
And somehow the quarterback gets blamed for all of it.
Has Cam made mistakes? Absolutely.
He’s a second-year quarterback. He’s going to make mistakes.
But Tennessee is asking him to overcome mistakes from virtually every other part of the offense and special teams while giving him almost no margin for error.
And despite all of that:
80.2% adjusted completion percentage.
5th-best in the NFL.
When Cam Ward gets a fair opportunity to make the throw, the numbers say he delivers.
That should be the story.
Cam Ward isn’t holding this offense back.
The offense is holding Cam Ward back.
