Today, we released a draft call to U.S. industry to build additional human landers for #Artemis, and I'd like to summarize our strategy. Ultimately, we want multiple American companies providing astronaut Moon landing services. go.nasa.gov/3wTsIJX (1/3)

We're going to the Moon, and we'll use what we learn to take the next giant leap — sending @NASA_Astronauts to Mars.
"Through the #Artemis program, the United States government will work with industry and international partners to send astronauts to the surface of the Moon.” The @WhiteHouse elaborates on our program to bring the first woman and the next man to the lunar surface:

Every year I get irritated about NASA remembrance day. I worry it is turned into a ritualized memorial ceremony rather than focused lesson for us in the industry to do a better job. I wrote this years ago, and I stand by it: waynehale.wordpress.com/2016…

Several media people have asked me about how risky STS-1 was. There were a lot of uninformed guesses circulating in 1981. Thirty years later, based on everything we knew, we back calculated the probability of loss of crew and vehicle to be 1 in 9. That is pretty risky.
