Late last year, a mind-blowing whitepaper was released by @informalinc and co-authored by the likes of @buchmanster and @socrates1024
Cycles Protocol: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Clearing System
I’ve been wrapping my head around it. Let’s explore “tldr style”
1/n 🧵
One of the reasons I left the UK was that I felt I couldn’t start a company there because I was not experienced enough and people wouldn’t take me seriously.
I landed in HK and instantly felt an energy and positivity. I could say I was starting a company and people instantly took me seriously. Being white and with an Oxford education helped. But even without that, there is a general acceptance to entrepreneurialism and risk taking in HK that there isn’t in the UK. This is even more the case in the US.
This negative attitude towards innovation is a large reason why I doubt I’ll ever live in the UK again.

We've closed a strategic round from @CMCC_Global and @cbventures to become the one-stop shop for prediction markets liquidity 🚀
Prediction markets are growing faster than the infrastructure beneath them. This July, the sector passed $50 billion in volume, more than all of 2025 combined (roughly $44 billion). As new exchanges keep launching, Raven powers them by providing the liquidity their users need to trade comfortably, and by supporting their teams on product, tech and ecosystem initiatives.
Founded in 2023 by Petar Kostov and Yuriy Myronovych, Raven trades around the clock across major centralised and decentralised exchanges in US, APAC and the EEA.
Thank you to @AnanyaBChetia and @CNBC for the coverage, and to @CMCC_Global, @cbventures, @hack_vc and @wmt_ventures for their support.

Banks need not fear CLARITY - they should embrace it!
Successful firms have long embraced new technologies - from the telegraph to the internet- to access new markets, onboard new customers and offer innovative products.
This time is now different.

The world’s biggest investors are descending on Toronto for the first-ever Canada Investment Summit.
They’ll be pitched shovel-ready projects in oil and gas, mining, power generation, infrastructure and more.
I hope we see some major deals announced.
But I also hope our guests learn that Canadians are not only “hewers of wood and drawers of water.”
We are also some of the world’s boldest innovators in AI, next-gen compute, space, blockchain and more.
Invest in Canada, yes! Help us build the physical infrastructure to become a global energy and industrial powerhouse.
But also help us build the digital infrastructure needed for Canada—and the world—to thrive in this new technology order.
Our startups are shovel-ready.
Venture capital is shovel-ready.
Builders are shovel-ready.
I will be at the Canadian Global Growth Forum today, hosted by @cvca making this case to global investors
If you want to invest in Canada while pushing the frontier forward, consider Canada’s builder community.

1/ 🇨🇦 Happy Canada Day.
Today, let's remember one of the most important moments in our history: The Last Spike.
When Canada finished building the Canadian Pacific Railway in 1885, a single ceremonial spike united a country.
Today, we need to drive the First Spike for Canada's digital future.

Today, @dtapscott and I published a guest essay in the @globeandmail based on our new report for the @blockchainRI -- Rebuilding Canada for the New Technology Order.
Canada faces two defining forces: a new geopolitical order and the rise of AI.
Our challenge isn't a lack of talent, capital, entrepreneurship, or resources. It's that we've failed to build a digital-first architecture for economic growth, productivity, and national power.
A thread 🧵

1/ The U.S. move to suspend foreign access to frontier AI models should be a wake-up call for Canada.
We need a serious plan to future-proof our economy and safeguard our sovereignty in the age of AI.
To address this, @dtapscott and I have published a comprehensive new report with @blockchainRI:
"Rebuilding Canada for the New Technology Order: A National Moonshot for a Prosperous and Sovereign Canada."
Our Titan Fund is proud to support @cyclesmoney as they bring privacy-preserving clearing infrastructure to crypto markets and stablecoin payments.

We are thrilled to be supporting @satraj @rmarini and the @rails_xyz team. A stacked team with exceptional experience and drive.
The platform is rapid, smooth and highly liquid. 💧
Give it a try:
trade.rails.xyz
We’re excited to announce the official launch of Rails today. We’ve also raised an additional $14 million USD, bringing our total funding to $20 million to date. With this new capital, we’ll be focused on deepening platform liquidity and scaling up the team ahead of several exciting product launches later this year.
One of those launches will introduce core utility for the Rails token, tightly integrated into the platform’s trading and incentive systems.
As I often tell the team — who’ve done a fantastic job — this is just the beginning. We’re ambitious, focused, and fully committed to the work ahead.

30) At the end of the discussion, the paper re-establishes the real world use cases.
Eg. Cycles could become a treasury dashboard - showing firm’s assets, overdraft facilities and payment obligations.
It is migrating DeFi into real world company finances.
31) You can read the white paper in all it's glory here:

It's offers one of the most interesting advancements in crypto and monetary theory that I've seen in a while.
Excited to see this go live!
