God is still above. The sun will come up. You will live. Dust yourselves off and check on your friends (regardless of party).
It will be ok. Not painless but fun stories to tell over a drink later down the road.
America is the greatest country in the world and Americans are unmatched in our desire to do more for the less fortunate and to defend the less safe. Tell God “Thank You” you were born here or “Thank God” for the opportunity to be here and join the American family.
It will be interesting to see the party that, just two years ago, was fighting to phase out oil and gas, pushing a costly energy transition to a wind and solar-powered grid and electric cars, shutting down two refineries in California, blocking pipelines, etc. - and whose energy energy premise was to make fuel more expensive - flips and works to reduce the price at the pump.
1982. Reagan was in his second year of his first term. Carter's inflation being wrung out of the economy led to a double dip recession.
Republicans lost 1 in the Senate, 26 in the House, and 7 governors.
Many pundits thought Reagan was cooked, done, finished.

NEW: Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) announces new prosecutions of non-citizens accused of voting illegally, including an Uzbek national in Wyoming who falsely attested to be a US citizen & voted, but was caught after the state began participating in the federal SAVE (Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements) program to cross reference voter rolls against DHS databases.
The Uzbek man, Maksim Shakirov, has now pleaded guilty to voting as an alien and is scheduled to be sentenced in January.
HSI is also announcing the arrest of a Dominican non-citizen woman, Rosanny Fabre Villa, for illegally voting in Pennsylvania in the 2024 election, as well as the sentencing of a French national, Eliezer Kadoch, who pleaded guilty to illegally voting in the 2020, 2022, and 2024 elections in New Jersey. Feds say he also falsely claimed in a 2023 application for US citizenship that he had never voted or claimed US citizenship. He will now have to perform 50 hours of community service, pay a $1,000 fine, and be on probation for one year.
Multiple indications that the far left will trigger street violence after the election with the aim of undermining our constitutional order.

Millions of Android TV boxes left the factory already backdoored and sold to criminals.
Google just exposed that Shenzhen manufacturer Videostrong deliberately pre-installed a persistent backdoor into more than 1.3 million Android TV boxes, including MECOOL models. Partners saw roughly 1.47 million infected devices across 206 models in 170+ countries.
It sold access to criminals who used the devices as residential proxies, ran ad fraud, and stole data, all without owners knowing.
The malware runs with system privileges, can silently install apps, disable Google Play Protect, and reinstalls itself from a protected partition if you delete it.
Google and partners took down the command servers (cutting off access to at least 10 million more devices) and permanently banned Videostrong from certified Android. The company had slipped the malware past testing by activating it after first boot.
Servers are offline, but the firmware backdoor is still on the devices already sold. Simple deletion will not fix it.
When a certified maker ships malware from the factory into living rooms across 170+ countries, cheap streaming boxes can quietly turn your home internet into someone else’s tool.

The Austin Statesman (2025) didn’t disclose it because it, as well as the Houston Chronicle (1987), San Antonio Express News (1992), and Dallas Morning News (2025) covering the four largest markets (and more) in Texas are owned by the pro-Democrat and pro-Gavin Newsom, Hearst Corporation.
Hearst has backed Newsom for decades (see Harper’s Bazaar 2004) and a Texas and flipping the Senate supports that goal.

Austin police recruits are being taught race and policing by a UT professor of African and African Diaspora studies who says "Black death at the hands of white authority is older than this country" and has "friends who call for the abolition of police."
APD has put $39,000 toward him, out of its patrol budget.
Kevin Foster, also an AISD trustee, teaches cadets the "History of Race & Police in Austin." He calls himself "a vocal advocate for reform."
He says he pitched the course to the police chief and APD leadership first. They approved it. APD has kept him on since 2022.
APD's last academy class started with 73 cadets and graduated 35. The graduates asked for more firearms and defensive tactics training. But what are they getting instead?

It has been a nasty and disappointing midterm election campaign, and few will be unhappy to see the end of it.
The irrational and almost sociopathic hatred of President Trump, even in ostensibly Republican circles, reveals less about Trump than about the intellectually corrupt and mediocre Republican Party whose headship he seized ten years ago. The Democrats have been reduced to an incoherent pantomime horse of anti-American extremists and exhausted hacks.
More disappointing is that surviving Reaganites are so hostile to Trump that they serenely overlook the blight of wokeness, the bottomless corruption in places like Minnesota, and the ambition to turn the United States into a one-party state. They want his last election to be a “rout,” in Peggy Noonan’s words, so they can return to business as usual. It won't be.
Trump has produced strong and rising economic growth, cut taxes, drastically deregulated, closed the border, deported over two million illegal entrants, mortally assaulted DEI, and prevented Iran from becoming a nuclear power. He has done the last at a cost of fewer combat deaths than occur every couple of weeks in many Democratically governed American cities.
His methods are irksome at times, and his public personality is an acquired taste. But he has pierced the pomposity and complacency of the bipartisan system he displaced. He has been a very effective president.

NEW: DHS announces that ICE & local partners arrested 230+ illegal alien truck drivers in a three day operation across 15 states dubbed “Operation Guardian” & seized more than 40 Commercial Driver’s Licenses (CDLs). DHS says one Honduran illegal alien resisted arrest and broke an Oklahoma State Trooper’s arm during the operation after the trooper pulled him over for speeding, ran his plates, and discovered the vehicle was stolen. Feds now charging him.
Per DHS, states which participated in Operation Guardian were Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, and Texas.
DHS says the Trump admin has now made nearly 4,800 CDL-related arrests nationwide since January 2025.
