💚 What a brilliant few weeks of the GAA, with football, hurling and camogie finals showcasing the talent, passion and pride that make Gaelic games so special. A huge go raibh maith agaibh to everyone who makes it happen - those who take to the field, coach, officiate, volunteer behind the scenes, and turn up week after week to support their club. Comhghairdeas to all the new county champions, and ádh mór as you progress to the next stage of your campaigns. To those who came close, keep the heads up. Your hard work and resilience will see you back again. The GAA is thriving across Ulster, and I’ll continue to do all I can to support its growth and development.

The DUP’s entire election strategy is about removing Michelle O’Neill as First Minister. It’s about stopping the momentum for change in the North. The days of ‘no nationalist need apply’ are over. There is no going back.

The Assembly has today backed calls to end the geo-blocking of RTÉ and TG4. North and south, Sinn Féin is pushing to bin this unfair practice once and for all. People across Ireland should be able to watch our national broadcasters, no matter where they live.

Our health workers deserve fair pay. Nothing less. My responsibility is to our workers, not to the British Secretary of State. Scotland receives £3bn more in funding than us. Wales £1bn more. The British Government is underfunding our services and treating our workers with contempt. I will not accept it. I will keep fighting for fair funding and fair pay.

Sinn Féin’s bill to help put food on the table for over 90,000 children during school holidays has taken another step forward. The DUP and other unionist parties tried to derail it. They failed. We will keep pushing to get this bill over the line and deliver this vital support for families.

The DUP labelled the people of the Garvaghy Road a “rabble” & a “lawless mob”. Now Jim Allister says the Garvaghy Road should be “sanitised”. Unionist leaders are in a race to the bottom, trying to outdo each other with reckless & sectarian comments about nationalist people. But our message is clear: The days of the Garvaghy Road community, & nationalists across the north, being treated as second-class citizens are gone. And those days are not coming back. Not now. Not ever.

Today belongs to the people of the Garvaghy Road. 28 years of peace and progress has been protected. People from every background and every corner of Ireland delivered a clear unambiguous message: our society will not be dragged back There Is No Going Back. Not Now. Not Ever!
