You may know me as the card counter who ragebaits casinos but I wanted to take the time to introduce myself to celebrate 100k followers on IG. 🥳
Before becoming a card counter & content creator, I was a traditionally “successful” Chinese kid. I graduated top of my high school class and studied Computer Science at Penn. I interned at Coinbase and Anduril and then worked full time at Stripe for a year. By every Asian parent metric, I had “made it”.
2025 is when my worldview on life completely changed and what I like to half-jokingly refer to as “becoming sentient”. My whole life I’ve always been deeply passionate about content creation. I loved YouTube and the idea of building an audience. But to the dismay of my parents, I was never excited about Computer Science. Even though I trained competitive math since I was a chubby kindergartener, I abandoned the idea of pursuing Quant in college. I simply wasn’t interested in anything CS related especially if it meant working for someone else & committing myself to a 9-to-5 (or, God forbid, a 9-to-9).
I started my content creation journey in February 2025, went viral in August, quit my full-time job that same month, and haven’t looked back since.
As much as I’m a numbers guy, I don’t put too much weight on milestones. Even so I must admit it’s quite neat to hit 100k almost exactly one year after committing to this path.
Probably the question I get asked most often is, “How did you take the leap?”
My traditional upbringing, my college friends who are crushing it at trading firms and startups in NYC/SF, and my naturally risk-averse personality all made walking away from a life of stability and socially recognized success feel impossible. All that to just to become a gAmBliNG influencer (side note I am actually incredibly anti-gambling!).
But the first lesson that every card counter should learn is to evaluate decisions based on expected value or EV. And so I considered my future, my happiness, and the person I wanted to become — pursuing my passion was simply the highest-EV play.
