Great night for young people and families from ourselves and @piltonyouthchildren as we got to see the results of their work with @george_nuku in the summer as part of his “Rising Tide” exhibition @nationalmuseumsscotland !

The climate crisis is the defining issue of our time. Yet, its effects are not evenly felt.
A new exhibition, Rising Tide: Art and Environment in Oceania, shows contemporary responses by Indigenous Australian and Pacific Islander artists.

Catching up on a great week at National Museum of Scotland collections. Here I’m identifying 180 year old specimens from West. Aust. while the rest of the #entangledknowledges team are interpreting Menang language, knowledge and culture as well as historical links for the fishes.

Tchark (Menang name) or Mulloway Argyrosomus japonicus as painted by Robert Neill in Albany, south Western Australia in 1841. So beautiful to see this in real life at the NHM. #entangledknowledges

Really BAD decision - upset that Kettles Yard will now charge for entry to the house! It completely goes against Jim Edes ethos of having the collection open and available to everyone.. to pop in for free whenever and see inspiring art!
Popped over to North Berwick yesterday to see the gorgeous mural and amazing but heart wrenching exhibition @SeabirdCentre on plastics found in the sea. 1/3
Over 100 days @lilbeachcomber undertook 100 beach cleans at Longniddry in East Lothian. The exhibition and mural are the resulting outcomes of this work which will hopefully make people think more about their relationship with plastics and their environment. 2/3
Last week was our final week with kids from @PiltonYouthProj, we froze ourselves on the beach looking for trash, visited the collection centre then turned the trash into art! All looking ahead to working with us again and @GeorgeNukuArt in summer!

ALT Two pictures. The left hand picture shows 3 children outside on sand roasting marshmallows over a fire. The child on the left has pink gloves and a grey jacket. In the background, a child in all black is looking at an adult in a green hooded jacket. The third child is wearing a pink jacket with a blue jumper. On the right, a circle in the sand with sticks in it separating it into segments, each segment is filled with rocks. A child in a pink jacket is adding to it.
Great to see pics of the final exhibition of artworks using plastic waste found in their local environment. Congrats P5 and P6 classes!
