This warning is for Central Pinellas County in west central Florida and Northwestern Hillsborough County in west central Florida. The threats associated with this warning are wind gusts up to 60 MPH and half dollar sized hail. There are 427,737 people in the warning along with 77 schools and 7 hospitals.
Here’s a look at the damaged pillar that prompted the evacuation of the South Beach III condominium building on Sand Key on Tuesday. Construction crews remain on scene working to stabilize the building.
We’re on scene of a condo building on Sand Key with potential structural issues. Evacuations have been completed and the county’s technical rescue team is evaluating the situation.

A number of other agencies are assisting us with the fire on Gentry Street, including Dunedin Fire, Largo Fire, Sunstar Paramedics, with some valuable assistance from Clearwater EOC for city heavy equipment to pull the pile apart and a city fuel truck to fuel units on scene.
