𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫-𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐮𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 From 1–3 September 2026, @bbforpeace participated in a three-day State-Level Dialogue on Gender-Responsive Policy and Institutional Practice in Benue State, convened by @CLEENFoundation. The dialogue brought together government institutions, civil society organisations, traditional and community leaders, women mediators, security and justice actors, peacebuilding practitioners and other stakeholders to examine the implementation of the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda in Benue State. Discussions focused on the review and strengthening of the Benue State Action Plan on WPS, with particular attention to the gap between policy commitments and implementation. Stakeholders examined issues around institutional ownership, coordination, budgeting, documentation and data, women's meaningful participation, prevention and early warning, protection, and relief and recovery. The three-day engagement also provided an opportunity for participants to develop practical policy recommendations and contribute to an M&E framework for tracking implementation of the revised State Action Plan.
