This was pretty unnecessary by Burnham and I think most decent folk realise that. Explaining that the First Minister didn’t know and then trying to infer he was in some way out of order was a bit Laboured.
This is some public relations challenge for Swinney. If he has any sense he will just apologise for the inadvertent hurt for the PM, to offer his sympathy to the Burnham family and leave it at that.

Everyone is shocked by the updated Google Maps images of Gaza’s devastation. But Sunak and Starmer’s govs both had a front-row view as over 600 RAF flights flew over and photo/filmed Gaza. They could see the destruction unfolding in real time, yet Britain did not stop it.

Zionists: “Oh, they’re just a tiny handful of rebellious kids.”
Today Israeli terrorist settlers have set fire to hundreds of olive trees in Deir Sharaf, west of Nablus in the West Bank.

Cannot believe all the hype about Burnham's speech. Who really cares? While Scotland is being asset stripped to the bone we are subjected to this pantomime. Scottish liberation can’t come soon enough.

Burnham is no socialist, socialists don't attack the poorest in society: teapawt.net/SocialistAct/status/21…
Workers in Britain receive a far smaller share of the economy now than they did in the 1950s, 60s and 70s. But their loss has not meant gains for pensioners or the poor. Big business are the big winners from Thatcherism and austerity. Yet successive governments target the poor, young workers, disabled people and now pensioners, never big business or the rich.

Lower pension because of Labour. Thats the fact here.
“We will guarantee a rise in the pension” “They will be lower than they otherwise would’ve been?” @vicderbyshire asks Secretary of State for Scotland, Douglas Alexander MP, about plans to end the existing state pension triple lock. #Newsnight

Michael Marra was asked eight days ago if the triple lock should end. "No, I don't believe it should."

Perhaps the British government can now stop saying Israel “may” have committed war crimes?
The updated @Google satellite images of #Gaza are quite incredible, for all to see...

Reminder: just last week, @AndyBurnham’s Labour government sent a UK military plane—which can carry 81,600 lb payload—to the key Israeli military base used to carry out the Gaza genocide This has not been reported in a single UK mainstream media outlet

In what conceivable sense are the Elgin marbles 'part of Britain's national culture' rather than part of Greece's national culture?

John is right to be proud of Elizabeth - her courage, bravery and honesty are an inspiration to many of us. I know how difficult a decision this must have been for her.

The UK isn’t a dispassionate arbiter of justice in prosecuting anti-genocide activists. It has been aggressively colluding in Israeli crimes. That huge conflict of interest is the elephant in the room. Read my latest here: jonathancook.substack.com/p/…

One cyclist, not really bothering anyone Meanwhile, on the right, endless pollution: 100 or so single-occupancy cars at a standstill, all probably complaining about the traffic, blissfully unaware of the consequences of their own actions.
This cyclist gives no shits about pedestrians on the path “ get out the way, I am an entitled law breaker”

🧵 1/ In May, the @ScotParl overwhelmingly voted for a call to devolve powers to hold an independence referendum. Today I published the draft Independence Referendum Bill. It proposes a clear Yes-No question, sets out who can vote, and upon introduction, will include the date.
