Let's get real about Citizens' Assemblies! @richwi1son & I explore what a different theory of change for CAs looks like. If CAs are to achieve significant change, they need to step into the political fray and get real about how power and politics works🧵

As of tonight, the new world is built. It will be merciless and ruthless. Only people in Gaza and the ones standing with them around the world foresee the horror of this new world. Good luck to all of us. @GlobalSumudF we are all deeply grateful for your moral leadership and unblinking courage.

GP Patrick Hart has been found guilty of criminal damage today.
A court heard he damaged fuel pump displays at an M25 service station during a climate protest in August 2022. Dr Hart said his actions were 'an act of care'.
He will likely face a tribunal that could see his GMC licence suspended, as was the case for doctors Sarah Benn and Diana Warner. [1/2]
Breaking: Dr Hart found guilty in Chelmsford Crown Court.
Can property damage ever be an act of care?

People have been banned from mentioning climate change in courtrooms under threat of arrest for “contempt of court” - during trials *about* climate change!

Can transnational citizens' assemblies connect with other publics? How exactly?
@AndreaFelicetti and yours truly gave it a good thinking. We haven't found the answer, but came up with a lot of other questions instead. 🙂
