Mae is doing well on the road. Behaving like the good girl she is. A little about her new family. When I Recieved the application. I almost did not respond. Filled out by an 18 year old girl still in school. Listed her sibling as the child in the house. Who is 16. All other requirements were fulfilled. I let it sit but I couldn't forget it. First this sweet girl deserves the world. I decided to call the number. Jewell and I had a long conversation. I asked all the questions I ask all adopters. She said she lived with her dad and brother. I asked if her dad knew she was bringing a dog home. Her response was he gave me the money. Come to find out. He have her the money to buy a pure bred Mal. But she came across Maes bio and fell in love. That rt there stole my heart. Moving forward she gave me her dad's phone number. She said if life ever changed and she could not keep Mae . Her dad would keep her. And yes I ask all adopters that question. It catches them off guard and I get an honest response. Usually they have not thought that far ahead. So I put the app as pending until I talked to her dad. Something in my heart told me to go Ahead and approve. I did . I have also spoken in depth with Heath, the dad too. And learned more of the story. The ex wife took their dog when she left. She left the cat and kids behind. He never spoke bad of her. Just said they had been without a dog too long. They have previously had danes or mastiffs all until they died of natural causes. I have no doubt Mae is going to be very much loved!! Jewell bought her a bed and dad said uhm she will be sleeping in my bed lol . Jewell sent a picture of her bed not a dog bed. I love stories like this. I love and miss Mae the bottle baby that was once starved by a foster and came back still loving . But I have no doubt she will enjoy nothing but happy tails!!
