Nigel Farage reportedly "barricaded" in one of his houses with the property being patrolled by security guards. Described as being "scared for his life" after two Chihuahuas were seen in the vicinity. It is unclear if the dogs are Liberal Democrats.

This seems like a great time to reshare my favourite Sir Patrick Stewart performance, โ€˜What has the ECHR ever done for us?โ€™ Itโ€™s just perfect in every possible way โ€ฆ including the ending ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ RIP. ๐ŸŽฅ The Guardian

To all the sycophantic Farage supporters screaming nothing happened with the Lib Dem MP Great - at last you are calling Farage out for being a liar. Quite easy - if nothing happened then the altercation he described and his reason for not attending the Budget are proven lies.

Farage excuses for not attending UK Budget in order: 1 -My prayer card was removed 2 - I never put a prayer card but there was no seat when I arrived 3 -There were seats but I was forced out by other MPs 4 -It's too dangerous for me to attend 5 - I never intended to be there

๐ŸšจFARAGE ALTERCATION So the 'altercation' with Farage playing the victim of not attending the Budget was at the State opening of Parliament and involved him 'shoving a female Lib Dem MP' What a big brave man he is.......

To have a prayer card Farage must have collected a prayer card before prayers start and sit in that seat during prayers. Here are the Reform benches during Kemi's reply to the budget statement. Plenty of room. He couldn't be bothered to turn up, because the day wasn't about him.

The Taxpayer literally funds you.
Borrowing up. Taxes up. No cuts to welfare. No plan for defence. Truly a Labour budget for the ages.

He says that he didn't attend the Budget to avoid an altercation He says that there was one in May However - why was this not reported - the Chamber is not a small empty place - if it was empty there would have been no physical altercation - there would have been numerous witnesses - as it is Farage it would have been 'big news' - Farage did not vote in Parliament from 18th March - 3rd June (what was so important to get a seat in May?)

He definitely was in Parliament for the Kingโ€™s Speech - I let him through a door when his card didnโ€™t work immediately after the King left. Had a 1 min chat where he moaned there was too much security (no, I have not made that up!) Youโ€™d think if heโ€™d been walloped by someone thatโ€™s what heโ€™d have moaned about instead

Badenoch has forgotten that Thatcher sold off the family silver, Cameron ruined public services with austerity, Johnson ruined the economy for a generation with his Brexit deal. Then he pissed ยฃbillions up the wall with dodgy Covid loans and PPE contracts. Then we had Mad Lizzy!

This shows a surprising lack of knowledge of @HouseofCommons procedure from @Telegraph As I used to be a regular at getting in early and booking my seat, here's my thoughts: First did Nigel Farage attend prayers? If he did having booked a seat and the card removed that is discourteous to say the least. Yet Nigel could have questioned the member claiming to have "booked" it before he did. (For clarity no requirement to actually take part in prayers, just to be present) Second if this occurred he could immediately have selected another unreserved seat nearby and put his prayer card in. Third one of his party colleagues could have offered him their seat at any point before the budget without infringing their ability to speak later or losing their own reservation for doing so provided they stayed in the chamber overall. #UKPolitics
Nigel Farage was unable to attend the Budget in the Commons because his seat reservation was removed, The Telegraph understands. The Reform UK leaderโ€™s prayer card โ€” a green slip of paper that backbench MPs put on a spot on the green benches to reserve their seat โ€” was moved after it was placed this morning. ๐Ÿ”— telegraph.co.uk/business/202โ€ฆ
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Farage's prayer card lacked a valid date stamp and was removed per House of Commons protocol. MPs confirm seats were available unreserved and he did not attend prayers to secure one. mirror.co.uk/news/politics/โ€ฆ x.com/hope_sapphire/โ€ฆ

The thing to remember: don't look at Budgets in isolation. Taxes have been rising since 2021. The extra tax we're paying this year is the *cumulative* result of five successive Budgets, under three Chancellors. This chart shows who's responsible & for how much.

Tesco could pay every worker an extra ยฃ10,000 and still make a profit. British Gas could pay every worker an extra ยฃ35,000 and still make a profit. Shell could pay every worker an extra ยฃ300,000 and still make a profit. It is the billionaires who are ripping you off.

Healey should put a cap on MPs expense claims. No more ยฃ45k water bills. Letโ€™s see a bit of housekeeping done in parliament. Allow claims but ensure they fit with the public expenditure. Anything above they pay out of their own pocket. Bring some trust back into Parliament.
