Pretty exciting news dropping from @DayhoffHealth, tumor research accelerated by @AMDRadeon, running on @rackspace #OpenStack Flex. Congratulations @TechFanatic2020 and the whole Dayhoff team. I’m looking forward to seeing you do amazing things in the near future.

Building on #Rackspace @OpenStack has never been easier. Let me show you how 😉 The developer cloud built for operators, by operators is here, and it’s simply brilliant.

Yesterday!

The product train keeps-a-rolling. I'm thrilled to announce that @Rackspace has just unleashed Rackspace #OpenStack Flex, our new multi-tenant, on-demand, cloud platform; a cloud solution so agile, you’ll barely have time to brew a pot of coffee before you’re already scaling 🚀 Gone are the sleepless nights spent worrying about vendor lock-in, let those nightmares visit someone else and their cloud 😉. Our updated reference architecture is once again pushing boundaries and ensuring open source is at the foerfront of everything we do. Cloud dwellers: fear not, our 24x7 Support is also here to ensuring your cloud journey is a Fanatical Experience. #Rackspace @OpenStack Flex is the next evolution in truly open infrastructure and is here to make your hybrid environment less Ring-esque and more "Ring the bell, we’re open for business." Embrace the future: check out Rackspace Technology OpenStack Flex and see how we’re redefining the open-cloud landscape, no exorcisms required. rackspace.com/newsroom/racks…

I recently published a simple blog post on the @Rackspace developer blog highlighting how folks can easily leverage powerful backup solutions, with #OpenStack and open source tools. Application Credentials (Keystone) > Restic > Object Store (Swift) > Profit! blog.rackspacecloud.com/blog…

The Zombie X1 lives

This was a simple change but it moves the build to the latest stable release and creates an automated workflow to publish and build images whenever updates are made to the Flake, which should make it even easier to run cloud-init enabled NixOS, anywhere you need it 😉

The Zombie X1 is one again in need of surgery. The CPU cooler has died of old age.

Open source isn’t just about code; it’s a bold act of reimagining the boundaries of what’s possible. In 2023, I rejoined Rackspace, joining our private cloud team with a mission to validate this notion, one cloud at a time. In 2024, we achieved our goal by building our platform for innovation and executing our mission. Here’s the real story of 2024: We didn’t merely maintain; we reinvented ourselves once again, this time in the open. Key Moments That Redefined Our Cloud Strategy: • Rackspace OpenStack Enterprise Launch: We made a grand entrance into the enterprise cloud market, demonstrating that open infrastructure isn’t just surviving; it’s thriving. “Guess who’s back? Back again. Rackspace’s back, tell a friend.” lnkd.in/g5wDMtsx • We came, we saw, we conquered Dell Tech World, with the power of open infrastructure. There were folks that questioned our commitment, rightfully, but with the strength of our new ecosystem, and the proof was in the cloud. lnkd.in/gbKK2gBU • OpenInfra Days Keynote: We shared our insights on how OpenStack has maintained its position as the leading private cloud innovation platform for more than a decade. lnkd.in/grreSfnH • Spot Platform Growth: Our market-driven compute solution for Kubernetes demonstrated that infrastructure can be both powerful and accessible. I couldn’t have predicted the incredible platform growth, and I was thrilled to see if our hypothesis would hold true. lnkd.in/g3ND7KGF • Reemerging as a large scale operator, talking shop with the community, and forging a new path with the Rackspace Cloud. lnkd.in/gvKh3RCt Looking ahead to 2025, open infrastructure isn’t just a technology strategy; it’s a philosophy. We’re not building clouds; we’re constructing ecosystems where #innovation can flourish, adapt, and transform. To the @OpenStack community, the @Rackspace Technology team, and every technologist who believes in the power of open source beyond code: Thank you for making this year extraordinary. I’m looking forward to partnering with everyone to make a massive difference, push boundaries, and create a positive impact in 2025; all in the open, all as valued members of a winning team on an inspiring mission. #OpenStack #Rackspace #CloudComputing #OpenSource #2024 #2024wrapped
