🚨 JUST IN: $ORCL and OpenAI have signed the largest cloud computing deal in history.
OpenAI will spend $300B on computing power from $ORCL over five years, totaling 4.5 GW of capacity and starting in 2027.
I wouldn't be surprised to see OpenAI as one of $NBIS' customers for the two upcoming greenfield sites in the U.S.

This is way more important than people realize
SAP is where mission-critical enterprise data lives and now that data can flow directly into Databricks without ETL or prep.
It’s a bridge between legacy business systems and modern AI workloads.

Cloud Cost Optimization Explained: 5 Takeaways from Vantage's CEO Ben Schaechter and Cloud Ratings Analyst Matt Harney
1⃣: Many companies (let's call them laggards) are still in the early stages of cost optimizations (i.e., figuring out how to use Reserved Instances and Savings Plan). The next step function for enterprises is building out a FinOps functions for more sophisticated tracking
2⃣: The Big Three cloud providers cost management tools and budgeting are subpar and less than ideal for actual implementation and usage. So much so that Vantage and many other companies are tackling this space. It's very difficult to split costs by departments and allocate shared resource costs.
3⃣: When customers become more efficient with their cloud spend, it allows them to re-invest back into more projects and workloads which in turn does further create lock-in advantages to the cloud vendor
4⃣: Snowflake and Datadog bills can be larger than their AWS/Azure Bill?? Jokes aside, I did not know this was possible.
5⃣: Cloud Infrastructure costs can directly impact a software companies COGS and it is super important to optimize this cost basis which directly leads to gross margin expansion and higher valuations

Amazon AWS CEO: "Quit if you don't want to return to office"
9/16: Andy Jassy (CEO of Amazon) call employees back to work 5 days a week
--According to the article, 9/10 workers he's spoken to support the policy
Although it is funny that he said 9/10 support the policy considering I doubt he talks to many ICs 5-6 levels below him
--Employees who had not been previously compliant (to 3 days a week RTO) were told they were "voluntarily resigning" and were locked out of company systems.
