#IITHyderabad, @CEEPL_India and Dassault Systèmes sign tripartite MoU at @BharatInnov2026 to establish “CODENE”, India's first Centre of Design Excellence in #Nuclear #Engineering, at IIT Hyderabad.
With the enactment of the Shanti Bill opening India's civil nuclear sector to private participation, and the Government's target of 100 GW of nuclear power by 2047, the need for world-class engineering talent is urgent. CODENE — powered by Dassault Systèmes' industry-leading simulation platforms — and "Anugyan", a three-month residential programme delivered by retired senior scientists from BARC and NPCIL of Crimson and top faculty of IIT Hyderabad will together build that talent pipeline from within India's ecosystem.
Prof. BS Murty, Director, IIT Hyderabad stated that IIT Hyderabad and @IITJammu , in collaboration with Crimson Energy, are exploring to setup India's first Micro Reactor within an academic institution at IIT Hyderabad — enabling hands-on research in reactor physics and advanced nuclear systems directly relevant to private participation in India's nuclear programme.
Along with the support provided by the Department of Atomic Energy and BARC, these initiatives of industry-academia collaboration with friendly nations — combining indigenous capability with international expertise aim to develop advanced indigenous nuclear reactors.
