1/ Design leaders are failing junior designers. I consistently see junior designers and design students ask for help with their portfolio, but I rarely see them ask for help getting better at design. Why is this a problem for design leaders?
An 8-part thread:
While the Colts organization has been slowly imploding, the Pacers have put together their most exciting roster in decades.
I cancelled Twitter Blue today. On the fence about whether I’ll close my Twitter account entirely. Tough call after 13 years but I’m not a fan of megalomaniacs running social media companies.
It feels like Frank Reich coaches every game like his historic Bills comeback over the Oilers. Three quarters of sleepwalking, 1 quarter of heroics. Although I don’t think we’re getting the heroics in this one.
I watched a crowd of teenagers try to keep a friend from starting a fight in the McDonald's parking lot today. He didn't fight but he punched a hole in the mural I despise on the side of our building. So I guess overall it was a great outcome for all of us.
This Kendrick commercial with Ray Dalio for Cash App is brilliant. Love seeing companies utilize celebrities in smart ways. youtube.com/watch?v=c84RHTQ7…
Really digging the new Gmail visual design. Nice work @GoogleDesign
I'm a huge fan of Andreeson Horowitz, but I can't think of many people I'd trust less to solve the housing crisis than Adam Neumann and a firm based in one of the least equitable communities in the country. a16z.com/2022/08/15/investin…
💯Moving to simply be closer to people who share your beliefs is antithetical to good citizenship.
Bet on this one 18 months ago as we doubled our company, and focused mostly on hires in this demographic. Companies that ignored this generation and went full remote will have a hard time attracting this talent in 3-5 years.
💼 Did you know Gen Z actually hates working from home?
You might assume that young professionals would be at the forefront of the push for remote work, but they're actually the ones who are craving time in the office the most, @akiito7 writes. 👇

Sure wish Republicans would give even half the effort they give to protecting unborn humans to actual living, breathing humans. Through climate change denial and avid support for weapons of mass murder, the @GOP is conspiring to create a hellish landscape for children to live in.
What gets me through these moments is the hope that one day the younger generations will finally wrest control away from the wretched claws of the lawmakers that have corroded this country for decades with selfish entitlement and violent apathy.
Look, whatever weak-ass attempts we have at creating "red flags" for gun buying clearly doesn't work. If you're a gun owner, do some deep reflection on the world you want. Your selfishness is getting kids murdered.
Another shameful week in the U.S. made possible by our country’s unwillingness to admit the second amendment has not protected our people as intended.
Great rundown of the market from venture perspective. FWIW, I haven't seen any major difference in product and growth amongst founders so far. I expect that to happen in Q3 if market continues its dive.
Every time I rent a car, the rental place acts like it’s the first time a car has ever been rented. For every person in line.
I turn 40 today and all I really want is for everyone to act really surprised I’m turning 40 thanks.
