King Abdullah, Muslim and mensch, showed the way with his hospital visits to the survivors. Thank you, Your Majesty. @KingAbdullahII
I have to say I’ve never seen this much solidarity towards Christians in the Middle East. God bless Jordan and its people

Look at all of these broken windows getting replaced, it's great for the economy!
Replying to @jakemintz @Suhail
i think the 'cyber as battle domain' framing is completely incorrect, where the correct framing is: look at all this infrastructure that we get to replace at a profit. i wouldnt call this defense at all, i'd call this the market moving according to need. it's a good thing

There's a *ton* of cybersecurity advice going around right now. Organizations should choose which advice they follow wisely because the next 1-2 years will demonstrate what advice was good vs. not. My rubric for what I think is a good strategy vs. bad strategy boils down to whether I think the strategy is still solid *without any use of AI*. If so, then use AI to amplify the strategy. If the strategy being successful wholly depends upon using AI (and lots of it), then all defenders must outspend the most token-richest attackers. That tells me there's a critical bottleneck outside of your organization's control in it being successful. That's a huge risk to take.

I decided to go mostly screens-off on my most recent plane rides to and from the UK. Would recommend! Instead of doing a half-assed job of work or watch mid movies on the tiny in-flight screen, I was able to sleep okay and read 3.3 books. The books were great but not amazing (~3.8-4.3/5 stars). Still very glad to read them and think it was a far better use of time than my counterfactual.

Will Strait of Hormuz LNG traffic become de facto unimpeded by the end of 2026? Jeremy Lichtman's Multi-AI Oracle forecasts 20% Iran has proposed reopening the strait, contingent on the US meeting several conditions, including lifting sanctions and addressing Iran's nuclear program. These negotiations have been slow, impacting the timeline for recovery. More here: bestworldgroup.com/jeremy-wi…

Will Strait of Hormuz LNG traffic become de facto unimpeded by the end of 2026? Phillip Godzin's pgodzinai forecasts 8%. As of Oct. 22, 2026, gCaptain is reporting a fragile, partial LNG rebound — not de facto unimpeded traffic. A Yes by year-end would require a rapid security and insurance normalization that neither gCaptain’s current reporting nor the OIES base case presently supports. Will any new space habitat be visited by humans before the end of 2027? Phillip Godzin's pgodzinai forecasts 40% The only credible path to “Yes” is Vast’s Haven-1. Starlab is publicly targeted at 2029, Orbital Reef has no current launch/crew date, and a Starship-based habitat is still conceptual for this window. Axiom’s first module is also reported as slipping to 2028 or later. More here: bestworldgroup.com/phil-will…

Will the price of Brent Crude fall below $50 per barrel in 2026? Jeremy Lichtman's Multi-AI Oracle forecasts 5% In October 2026, Brent crude oil prices have been trading above $110 per barrel due to heightened concerns from geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. Specifically, Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabian energy facilities, including an Aramco site at Yanbu and airports, have sustained a geopolitical risk premium on oil prices. Despite these attacks, Saudi oil exports have recovered to more than 4 million barrels per day in September from a low in August, as the country shifted its shipping routes through the Strait of Hormuz. bestworldgroup.com/jeremy-wi…

I'm skeptical that 1. any human enhancement capability trend, even if exponential, catches up to the AI capability exponential, 2. viable human enhancement doesn't run out on the S-curve earlier than AI. So even in the best case, we need a coordinated pause for AGI!
