Stumbled across this tweet but lovely to see Rog get such lovely recognition. Worked with him for years at #STFC where he was kitman - glad I kept on the right side of him! A great man.

An athletic goalkeeper, who was capable of world-class saves, and an ever-present in our 1974-75 Third Division championship team, Roger Jones would make 277 appearances for #Rovers after joining from Bournemouth in 1970. During his six years with Rovers, he proved himself to be one of the finest goalkeepers to ever represent the club. Although not the tallest, Jones had natural athleticism and dominated his area, with an impeccable judgement of crosses. He started all 46 league games as Rovers secured the Third Division title in 1975, before moving to Newcastle United in March 1976 to be reunited with former Rovers boss Gordon Lee.
Dave was a regular and valued programme contributor during my #STFC years. I hope it’s a great evening and I look forward to the read…

Who started Swindon Town? A young priest called William Baker Pitt, all the way back in 1879. Here's his story, from the @Official_STFC Museum. 👇 (Our first film made with a little help from AI.) #stfc 1/2
