DJ Hed says that Roddy Ricch’s newest album is a step above his recent projects, saying that it has more “cohesion” and “intention” behind it:
“He has people coming in - same people that Dot is working with 👀 - coming in and building the sound of what the album is going to be…And he’s grown as a man. So now, I want people to give him the same shot they’d give everybody else.”
DJ Hed elaborated on why he doesn’t want people to count Roddy out:
“The reason why I want people to give him grace [is because] you gotta understand Roddy got on when he was 18, he went to the top of everything in the world when he was 21 years old…and was not prepared for that.
[If] you have a diamond record on your debut release album, that’s not something that you can live up to…I don’t want people to write him off or count him out…I’m tryna give people perspective on this; he’s still young as hell, and had this level of success.”
I’m excited to see what Roddy has been cooking up and am still a big believer in his talent 🙏🏼
