It takes more courage to stay consistent when nobody is watching than to perform when everyone is.
Anyone can show up when the stakes are high and the audience is clapping. The real work happens in the quiet stretches, when the results are slow, the motivation is gone, and the only reason to keep going is the standard you set for yourself.
That is where character gets built, and it is why the people who last are rarely the loudest ones. They are the ones who kept showing up long after it stopped being exciting.
Love this guy and players in the State of Arkansas will feel the same!!💜
"What we've done is we want to be the destination for Arkansas kids. If Cal doesn't want them, we want them."
The UCA men's basketball team has nine Arkansas players on the roster as they look to build on their historic season last year.
Coach Shulman said they want to keep the in-state talent in-state. Period.

In the 'Shulman Bowl,' Central Arkansas got the better of UT Martin 93-71 in an exhibition.
UT Martin is led by Jeremy Shulman. Jeremy's uncle, John, is the UCA head coach.
I talked with both coaches about going up against each other with dozens of family members in attendance.

Posted and turned on football. Anyways, closing thoughts:
Location is a pretty blunt proxy. My data doesn’t capture most of what makes a shot "good" or "bad." Rhythm, balance, contest strength, and who’s shooting matter more than the spot. And not every three is a good three either!
There’s a place for the midrange. Some guys are really good at it. Some defenses take away the rim/three and you need a counter. A good shot for one guy is a bad shot for another.
That’s where coaching comes in. Know your personnel, get buy-in, and build the right habits in practice.
But all things considered, the midrange usually isn’t an efficient look. Especially in college, where there’s no defensive three seconds and most guys just aren’t good enough shot creators to live there.
Shot diets built around the rim and catch-and-shoot threes (paint-kicks, perimeter-swings, etc) win long term.
(I paid Elon $4 to write a longer post, smh)

‼️ Joy is a competitive advantage ‼️
The mainstream perception of ‘good coaching’ is screaming at players, no joking around and no fun on the floor. A lot of coaches, players and fans view fun and hard work as an ‘either, or’.
Every competitive coach struggles with this. There isn’t one who hasn’t lost the joy amidst the grind.
BUT….
When JOY AND HARD WORK are in SYNC, it’s game over. 👇🏼

On a normal day at her dream job, Genelle Guzman-McMillan was working in the North Tower when it collapsed on 9/11. She was buried under concrete and steel for 27 hours and was the last survivor pulled from rubble. “A Day That Changed Our Lives Forever” features her riveting story and others—along with a powerful message of hope. This Labor Day, we give thanks to God for the opportunity to work and serve others through the gifts He has given us. Whether your work is seen by many or known only to a few, every task can become an act of worship when it is done for His glory.
