The playoff system guaranteed that a couple thousand kids experienced a "playoff" game vs a new opponent in a win or go home scenario. I didn't hear any kids on those teams backing out like NCAA bowl games. So if the kids loved it and got another game, then I'm all for it.

Over the years many, many people have said that teams (and specifically Joliet Central) would not want to be in the playoffs just to lose a rough game.
Well, here is Joliet Central senior Tristan Sellers after losing the playoff game 56-0 to Lane tonight:
"This was amazing. Being able to have this playoff experience for the school was special. I am just proud to be able to be part of this process and show the kids coming up behind us what is possible and showing them a goal to push past. There was a lot of life and excitement around at the school . And now there will be more people excited about football. I’m excited about what is to come here."
What a moment with our team! Blessed to be a part of it!

Last year my son played his final game, a lopsided first round defeat. He hugged me on the field after the game. He said I’m so glad I got a chance to play in a playoff game in my high school career. Fans care about the score, but it’s the kids experience that matters most.
