Found one of my old extra credit assignments from 10th grade. We could present on the history of anything so I did mine on Magic Mountain. When I got to this slide and mentioned that X/X2 was so expensive that it made the company that built it bankrupt the whole class laughed lol

no they’re fucking not. that was B&Ms fist fatality in nearly 40 years of being in business and they have made more Hypers than anyone. if you come at the coaster community you will be hit with a wave of autism so strong you won’t be able to tie your shoes for years
Hypercoasters not regulated and 'more risky' than ever, warn experts after Six Flags horror death trib.al/SUOHqI7
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Hypercoasters and other fixed-site roller coasters are regulated by state authorities in Georgia and most US states, requiring permits, annual inspections and compliance with safety standards. Reported injury rates remain very low at about 1.27 per million rides. rules.sos.state.ga.us/gac/120-3-27 iaapa.org/safety-securit… usatoday.com/story/travel/e…

Speculation is normal. Curiosity is normal. Spreading bullshit information as fact when you have no clue what really happened or the engineering behind coaster safety is not. Which is the vast majority of you. Please stop.

People who don’t have any knowledge about rollercoasters should shut their yapper when it comes to rollercoaster safety.

I just want to say that I'm wildly disappointed (although not the least bit surprised) by the way some people in the coaster enthusiast community are reacting to/sensationalizing the accident at Six Flags Over Georgia. There's a family mourning a VERY real loss here.

Horrible what happened at Six Flags but it’s mad how many people are using it as an excuse to pile on coaster safety with some loony posts suggesting they should all be closed. You’re safer on a coaster than you are in a car or any other mode of transport for that matter.

I don't have anyone blocked currently, but I'm getting close with the people reposting the Goliath picture and mindlessly speculating. Can we just chill and let the investigation take place?

PLEASE DO NOT SHARE THE PHOTO THAT IS CIRCULATING RELATED TO THE GOLIATH ACCIDENT I have heard from more than one person that it is VERY hard to look at (I have no need to see it), it's also very disrespectful to the deceased. Please don't force others to see it in their feed.

I just did a survey from Six Flags where they discussed renaming the parks. One of the suggestions was Six Flags Over North Ohio instead of Cedar Point? No thank you. Please don't do this. I updated my post with a picture from the survey to inform the doubters. – at Pittsford, NY

rest in peace (not my video)
After almost 20 years, we have decided to permanently retire X2. Read Six Flags Magic Mountain Park President Brian Oerding’s blog post for more details: bit.ly/46QV3l6

A coaster unlike anything on earth when it was announced. The US will for sure never see anything like it again. #SixFlags #X2 (Not my videos 📹)

X2 has taken its final dispatch. Although it will be sorely missed, the decision to close it was understandable.
