I'm really, really excited. A lot of people saw me, complimented me, wanted to see me, and took pictures with me. I got so many compliments, and honestly, I have never felt this loved before. As someone who grew up getting bullied so many times, seeing people actually tell me they like what I do makes me so happy. I'm so excited that I have this much impact. Thank you so much to everyone who engaged with me. I literally have my pictures everywhere, and I'm so confused. There are so many pictures that I don't even know where to take mine from. It's crazy. And thanks to the brands that reached out to me and got me on stage. I'm still getting used to all of this, but I keep trying. Thank you so much to all my guys and friends. There are so many of you that I don't even know how to tag everyone. There's just way too many people, but I love every one of you. Thank you so much for all the love. You guys have no idea what this means to me. Thank you @RaenestApp

* sees a burn survivor * quickly bodyshames her * inserts "men" to divert attention * pretend that men are evil perverts over an idea she made up completely Once you clock that women can be inherently evil you'd stop seeing them as innocent harmless little angels

Saturday 31 October, I'm putting 6 hours of AI into one room in Lagos. Here's the whole day so you know exactly what your seat buys: - 10:00 doors open - 10:30 the FlagIQ story, the honest version - 10:55 where AI actually is today - 11:15 Prof. Chika Yinka-Banjo, Director of the AI UniPod - 11:40 where we are now with AI (all over the world and Nigeria) - 12:00 what you can do with it, starting Monday - 12:25 people I've taught, on stage with real work - 12:40 lunch and networking - 13:20 Michael Pepper - 13:50 one more speaker, named closer to the day - 14:15 Saheed Niyi, founder of YarnGPT - 14:40 we launch something on stage - 15:10 networking till 16:00 No panel about the future of AI in the abstract. Everybody on that list is building something right now and will show you what it looks like. Now why a room and not another livestream? That's because online, you learn the thing, but in a room, you meet the person who needs the thing built, or better still, connect with other founders and builders. Your seat gets you lunch, a way into the Flag Skool community, and a one-time Cohort 2 discount nobody online gets. Can't make it to Lagos? The livestream is free. webinar.flagiq.org 🫡

Captain Ibrahim Traoré stood before his nation and spoke a truth that had been buried for over a thousand years. He named the Arab slave trade. Not in whispers. Not in academic papers. But in a televised address, to a country that is overwhelmingly Muslim. "The people came, first the Arab-Muslim conquests. That is over a thousand years of slavery in Africa," he said. He spoke of men castrated so they could not father children. He named the year 1962, when the last slave market closed in Medina. He refused to let silence protect a historical crime. This was not an attack on Islam. Traoré is a Muslim himself. This was an act of reckoning. He was saying what the entire continent had been afraid to say: that Africa was enslaved by two systems, and only one of them is allowed to be remembered. The West's crime is taught in schools. The East's crime is erased. The reaction was swift and fierce. Gulf states condemned him. Some clerics called it Islamophobic. But Traoré pressed forward. He announced that Burkina Faso would recall hundreds of students studying Sharia law abroad, warning that some returned with teachings incompatible with national unity. He declared the state secular, and no religious law—Islamic or otherwise—would govern it. Why does this matter? Because the Sahel is burning. Jihadist groups are recruiting with a distorted version of faith, and that distortion has been imported and funded from outside Africa for centuries. By naming the Arab slave trade, Traoré severed the spiritual authority that foreign clerics have held over African Muslims. He asked a question that should echo across the continent: "Are we cursed?" His answer was no. Africa was not cursed. Africa was conquered, colonized, and enslaved by two different powers. And the only way to break free is to name it, teach it, and refuse to let it be silenced.

I co-authored a paper on why African mining deals keep going wrong, and what to do about it before anyone signs anything. Most available tools only score these mining contracts from one side. We built something that scores the same deal from both the host country AND the investor at the same time before signing. The gap tells you how likely it is to blow up. We tested it on the 2005 Liberia–Mittal Steel deal. Our index flagged high risk. It was renegotiated within a year. The paper was presented at the Russian-African Forum of Young Scientists 2026 @UNESCO at Saint Petersburg University. And yes, the @UnilagNigeria logo is on those slides because of me.🤭 I co-authored it with Sofia and Polina from Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. I wasn't there to present physically, but I know my team killed it. I’m happy I did this with them fr❤️ Africa has 30% of the world's mineral reserves. Our governments deserve better tools at the table. Let’s do better!
I took my school’s name to an international stage😩

Twenty years ago I was drugged at a bar while studying abroad in Argentina. I ended up alone with a male classmate who sat next to me until sunrise while I slept it off in the booth of a 24hr diner. Some men are beyond decent. It mattered a lot. Thanks, Devin.
